Shallow Tails Guide Service, Inc. is a full time flats and back country fishing guide/charter service. We are based out of beautiful Miami, Florida and also take guided fishing trips to Biscayne Bay, Upper Keys including Islamorada, and Flamingo Everglades National Park. We specialize in Tarpon, Bonefish, Permit, Snook, Redfish, Sea Trout, Shark, and Barracuda. We take people of all skill levels from beginners to expert fly fisherman looking for trophy fish. I did a half day AM trip on Biscayne bay at the end of December. We used spinning gear. We caught 3 fish at the first stop, then moved on to another location (sworn to secrecy by Raul). At the second location fishing action was nonstop until it was time to return. I didn't count, but I estimate we caught 30 fish of about 7 or 8 different species.
Raul's fishing is clean and in excellent condition as is his boat.

Our Son was home for a few days from the Army and Raul was able to squeeze us in for a half day in Flamingo. Raul is a solid dude that you won’t regret booking. We caught a bunch of fish and he worked extremely hard in not the best of

i'm from the midwest and typically fish for bass/walleye/pike up north. was in the miami area for business and was seeking out an inshore saltwater experience. captain raul was immediately helpful and put my father and i into one of the most exciting high energy fish catching situations ever. caught many species seen for the first time (spanish mackerel, yellowtail snapper, mutton snapper, mangrove snapper, blue runner, hogfish, gag grouper, porgy, yellow jack). captain raul is pleasant and professional from booking to fishing. highly recommended.

Raul is the best! I am a tournament fisherman up north and I learn so much fishing with Raul. The perfect mix of knowledge, instruction, and plain fun is what I have had the pleasure of sharing with Raul on Biscayne Bay. I’ve caught world class permit and bonefish without ever having fished for them before! A testament to his ability. You cannot go wrong spending a day on the water with Captain Raul Montor

My son and I wanted to do a day fishing trip in Miami. We found Captain Raul with Shallow Tail fishing guide, and we definitely were not disappointed. We caught so many fish, and had some of the best dinners we've ever had. Captain Raul was very knowledgeable and professional. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a guide.

My wife and I chartered two fishing trips with Capt. Raul, Shallow Tails Fishing Guides. One day at Flamingo Everglades for tarpon and one day at Biscayne Bay for bonefish. He is very knowledgeable of the area, where the fish are, and how to skills to land them. We highly recommend hiring him as your personal guide. Time of your life.

Capt Raul is awesome! My boyfriend did a guide trip on my birthday, so not only did Capt get him on the fish all day long, but he also was great about doing some "touristy" sight-seeing and entertaining my interests as well! Nevemind that he didn't care about me basically moving into his boat with all of the stuff I brought. lol He is extremely knowledgeable about the fish, the area, and was very entertaining and fun!

I live in the South Florida area, and grew up fishing my whole life. I started fishing fresh water, and got into salt over the years. I've caught everything except Permit and Bones. This past weekend I had the pleasure to fish with Captain Raul Montoro. Having lived down here for 25 years, it was the best experience fishing with a guide I have ever had. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. Having never caught a Permit, he coached me the entire way through which ended in myself landing a true world class fish. I couldn't thank Capt. Raul enough for the amazing experience, and will definitely be in contact to set up another trip for more Permit and Bonefish. Whether you're from the South Florida area or anywhere in the world, experienced angler or new to the fishing world, Capt. Raul is the guide for you.

Fished with Shallow Tails Guide Service out of Flamingo on what should've been a less than average day because of the prior day's full moon. Fishing was pretty tough but in the end experience on the water prevailed. Capt Raul got us into a great red fish bite, and even though the fish were acting very spooky, we still managed several releases and even took 2 home for dinner. We also caught some trout over 20" and even caught my first black drum. Needless to say it was a great day out on the water and I learned a lot from the Captain.

Hey D, I had a blast with you on the skiff. Those redfish were a little frustrating, but we did manage some nice keepers and a bunch of trout to top off the day. Thanks for the write up and see you again soon.

We loved fishing with Captain Raul! He was great with our boys, ages 12 and 10. He made sure they caught lots of fish and had fun doing it! We will definitely book another trip with Raul the next time we are in the area.
