I contacted Tigertails well in advance of our trip and they were very prompt in replying and provided excellent information. We decided on the 2 hour tour and we were so pleased we had. This gave us a chance to spend some time at the rehabilitation centre and also to go out further from the crowds. Definitely worth the extra, a small boat with only 6 of us in total, so different from some of the big boats we saw. We really felt we had had a personal service. Humberto, our guide, was very knowledgeable and his care for the animals was obviously a labour of love. We loved the whole experience. We saw alligators and turtles at the centre and also alligators, herons, kites and egrets out in the wild. A stunning 2 hours, I can't recommend it enough.

Called to make reservations and ensure that they had no problem accommodating my party which included my autistic son. The girl who picked up the phone was very kind and she took her time to explain everything we would see and it was very comforting how she reassured me that the ride was safe and that they also had ear covering for my disabled child to help him with his noise sensitivity. Took me over an hour to arrive but it was very Accessible from the road. When the tour started our tour guide, Alex Tigertail drove us through the mangroves, pointed out the sights and the native birds. He was very experienced and respectful. Let us walk around and familiarize ourselves with the native land and also gave us space to enjoy the warm weather. We saw turtles and gators and it was a beautiful way to connect with nature.. would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to try a different experience.

We were a group of 10 people coming 30. December 2019. We had not heard of this place before and stopped because the parking lot was not full. And we didnt regret stopping there, thats for sure. We had to wait for about one hour before we could get a boat for all of us, but we spent the time learning a lot about the Indians and natives in the aera. The tour into the the sump was amazing, mostly because of the guide and all of his knowledge and dedication to the animals and environment. We highly recommend Tigertails Airboat Tours.

We greatly enjoyed our private airboat tour last week with Tigertail Airboat. Our guide was Wilde and he did an amazing job. I have no idea how he was able to navigate the saw grass. We loved how he was able to bring the life of Miccosukee tribe to life. There was clearly a deep love and respect for the Everglades and animals.
Tigertail is a little further away from Miami, but well worth the drive to get a less touristy airboat experience. Plus it is only a few minutes drive to the Shark Valley Entrance of the Everglades National Park. We would absolutely come back and do another airboat tour with them. They recommended one at dusk!

We went in March. Drove up, no wait and got right on the airboat. Our guide drove us to the island where the we learned lots about the local wildlife and got to hold baby alligators, turtles, and tortoises. Holding the baby alligator was the highlight of the week for the kids. Our guide was great. While on the airboat, we saw lots of birds and an adult female gator. As for cost, young kids are free, which made it more affordable. They provide over-the-head ear protection. I would also recommend wearing sunglasses to block wind from your eyes (especially for kids). There is a porta potty at the parking lot. I had called about a week before the trip inquiring about reservations but never heard back from anyone; just showing up seems the way to do it. I liked that it was a small operation.

great time was highlight of our trip our Guide Wilder was on time in fact he was early as we had gotten there early so he said lets go and we jumped aboard for our 2 hour private tour
Wilder was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the tribe and the animals. Would recommend them any time
they were very good also at communication (not like the so called original and oldest company that never once out of 3 e-mails answered us) Tigertail got back to us the next day. Thanks again for a great ride.

Great experience. There are obviously lots of options for airboat tours in the area and I’m sure many are good but our experience with Tigertails this week was fantastic.
We made a last minute decision to try and do a tour before a late flight out of Miami. There were 11 in our group but Tigertails was very accommodating and we booked a 1pm tour. When we were delayed by a stuck drawbridge on our drive up from the keys we called to tell them we would be about 15 minutes late. Not only did they say, “no problem” but they also added, “take your time and drive safely”.
The tour itself was excellent. Saw gators, snakes, turtles, etc. We stopped at 2 islands once inhabited by the Miccosukee tribe. Our guide (sorry, forgot name) was personable and very informative.
Would happily do this tour again and would absolutely recommend to others.

We had a day in Miami after our cruse so we decided to do an airboat tour. After checking out lots of places we decided to go with Tigertail because of all the great reviews. We were not let down. It was such a good time. It was a nice small group, there were 8 in total. We saw some of the other boats that looked like they had over 20 people per boat. Our tour guide was great and very informative. We went to their rehab island and saw the turtles and baby alligators, then went to the family island where we saw some of the juvenile alligators and we also go to see Mama Gator.
Great tour and would recommend to anyone.

It was our first everglades, airboat adventure and did not disappoint. Guide Wilder really went out of his way to show us all the wonderful wildlife he could. Saw gators, birds, turtles, held the baby gator. The different water lilies were very neat. We really enjoyed the entire trip. Hearing of the history of the Indians was very interesting and would recommend this trip.

Due to Covid restrictions in January 2021, this was really a private tour for our group of four. We chose this tour because we wanted a more authentic and cultural tour, highlighting how inhabitants have survived in the Everglades area. Our guide was very knowledgeable and good to answer all of our questions. This was the right tour for us. We saw several alligators sunning themselves, which our guide spotted for us, and watched one very large alligator crawl into the water. This was a far better tour than we have taken in the National Park.

Can anyone please tell me if there are other activities other than the airboat ? Hiking etc? Is there a restaurant/food? Thanks !
Written September 29, 2019
Hi Pepsters,
In our area you will find Shark Valley national park about a mile west of Tigertails. Across the street from Shark Valley you'll find the Miccosukee restaurant. About a mile west of the restaurant is the Miccosukee Village. Hope this helps.

I would like to know the US price for two adults to take a 1 hour? 2 hour tour? Feb. 3, 2018 in the afternoon as we are arriving by airplane close to noon. How long will it take to drive from MIA?

Hi,
Thank you for your interest in our tours.
Our 2 standard tours are the 1 hour is which is $60 per person and the 2 hour that is $85 per person. We try to keep it to just one group per boat. If we do have to combine groups we still keep them as small as possible. This way we have the opportunity to speak with everyone. If you would like to ensure it is just your group on the boat we charge an extra $15 per visitor on top of the regular price.
Longer, night tours and specialized tours such as birdwatching and filming are available upon request.
On both the 1 hour and 2 hour tours you make 2 stops. Our private island and the Tigertail camp.
Our island is where we care for nuisance or injured wildlife that we rescue for the local community. This is where your group will have the opportunity to interact with some of the wildlife.
The second island is where the Tigertail family lived up to the late seventies. This is where you might get the opportunity to meet a few members of the gator family that lives there including the 13 ft Papa gator.
The 2 hour tour gives us the opportunity to go out farther, away from other boats, where we get better chances of seeing the wildlife out in a natural setting. You also see a change the change in landscape as you travel to different
If you have any further questions or would like to schedule your tour, you can do so through email or by phone at 786-404-1139 or 305-439-2745.
Thank you,
Humberto
Tigertail Airboat Tours

How different of an experience is a Tigertail tour from the Shark Valley tram? We have one day in the Everglades and I'm wondering if doing both would be at all redundant since they are so close. Our alternative would be one of the airboat tours on the gulf coast side of the park.
Written October 7, 2016
I've never done the shark valley tram but heard good things. Tiger tail will really show you everything in the EVERGLADES and if your lucky to go with Humberto he gets really into everything with you. A very professional one on one tour with the best out there. Truly a must do!

How far from downtown Miami are you located? What's the best method of transportation to get there?
Written June 26, 2015
Hello,
The airboat tours are actually west of Miaimi, not downtown. You will need to have a car and take route 41, known as Tamiami Trail. It seems that if you go west on 8th street it eventually turns to 41. You will pass the Miccosukee Casino on the right. It is a good 10 miles or so miles west of Miami. You will never forget the experience.

Hi, we are a party of ten 50-60 year olds coming to Miami in March 2016 from London. How much would it cost for us to have a tour and could we all do it on one boat together? Also, we are likely to be staying out South Beach; do you arrange transport to collect and return?
Written May 12, 2015
I don't work there, but I've done their tour, which is fabulous. I can tell you that I believe 10 people could fit on their boats. I think you could easily fit four across and there are three bench seats. Sorry I can't help you with the rest.

I appologize for the late response.
Our 1 hour tour is $60 per visitor, the 2 hour tour is $85 per visitor and our 30 minute (which is usually 40-45 minutes) short/walk-in tour is $30 per visitor.
The best way to contact us to schedule your tour is emailing us through our website. You can also call us at 786-404-1139 or 305-439-2745.
