For Mother's Day, I gave my wife Ayesha's "Dinner on the Spice Route" online cooking class. To add to the fun, we included our two adult children (who live in different cities, in different time zones) and their significant others to join us for a simultaneous virtual cooking and eating experience. We all queued up the video, socially-distanced in our own homes, watching Ayesha's online class, with each couple simultaneously being connected on another device via FaceTime. It was the closest thing we could ask for to being in one out our kitchens together to all cook and enjoy a celebratory meal toghether for Mom's special day.
Ayesha was great to work with at every step of the way. She was quick to answer questions electronically and we had several delightful conversations as she helped us figure out logistically how to accomplish our experience the way we envisioned. At her recommendation, we also purchased her own curated spices, sourced from India (she even included some fresh curry leaves from her garden!). She sent the spice packs to our different locations so we would be operating with the same ingredients. The colors, smells, and FLAVORS of the spices were intense and rich, like nothing we had ever experienced in Indian food before. We strongly recommend adding the purchase of her special spices for your class.
After about an hour of ingredient preparation in each of our 3 kitchens, we launched into cooking all 6 dishes concurrently, following Ayesha's online video, which took just over another hour. We cooked lamb (substituted for chicken) Vindaloo, seasoned rice, salad, a butternut squash dish, dessert and tea. We paused at numerous points to allow one or another of us to catch up as we cooked. As the dinner came together, again the unique aromas and flavors complimented each other beautifully, sparking many "wow!" comments from all of us. Every dish was differently spiced and exciting in its own way - the whole meal and the experience was exquisite and delicious. Ayesha followed up after Mother's Day to ensure we had enjoyed the meal, which we did immensely.
My family would highly recommend Ayesha's kitchen classes and look forward to trying another one in the future.

My son and I attended the Goan seafood class last Saturday, It was outstanding in every way. Ayesha has a charming outgoing personality. She made this feast from scratch in her kitchen with an overhead cam so everyone could see her cooking on a large screen. She used the best, authentic ingredients. They are primarily sourced from India. Our group was 8 people. We ate at an outside table under a tiki hut. You can see the table settings in my photo.
All the dishes were excellent but my favorite was Sheera, a dessert made from semolina flour. It had a unique flavor. I could have easily eaten the entire bowl of dessert as it was that good.
A common complaint from friends is that Indian food is too spicy. This Goan seafood luncheon was not at all spicy. I highly recommend Ayesha’s Kitchen for a superb culinary experience in Miami.

If you haven’t experienced a cooking class at Ayesha’s Kitchen or catered an event with Ayesha’s fabulously rich Indian cuisine you haven’t lived! Actually, if you’ve enjoyed any of Ayesha’s offerings, in-person cooking class, video class or catered parties you’ve lived like a “Royal’! Tonight we had friends over for private dinner, the menu? Butter chicken, butternut squash, jeera rice etc. The dinner table was a full Hollywood or Bollywood production! Our guests were quite Wowed. Because the food was incredibly good they’re eager to join us for in-person class next month. I live in Chicago and must visit Ayesha’s Kitchen every time I come. Once you try it you’ll be fascinated and hooked too!
I would recommend you share Ayesha’s lovely food, bonding with old fiends and new as well as family!

I signed up the Classic Curry class offered by Ayesha’s Kitchen at the request of my husband who adores Indian food. I have always liked it, but having sampled all the local Indian restaurants, I have never been able to find one which could be considered exceptional.
Once the students arrived for the class, we were led into the kitchen where Ayesha first provided us with an orientation of Indian spices , their flavors and added health benefits. She then began the cooking lesson thoroughly explaining what she doing every step of the way. As she prepared the several recipes which would later comprise the grand finale meal, guests were enticed by the tempting aromas emitting from the stove top.
Once the lesson was completed, guests were treated to a delicious Indian meal which was served out under Ayesha’s chickee hut Guests were later provided with the copies of the several recipes which were made during the lesson and given the opportunity to purchase kits containing all the spices needed to prepare the meal at home.
There were cooks and non- cooks alike in the class and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. An I went from someone who liked Indian food to someone who finally saw the light and tasted exceptional Indian food discovering it is the fresh ingredients which make the difference.

My husband and I had the pleasure of attending Ayesha's Lamb class on Sunday. There were a total of 10 participants. We sat comfortably in Ayesha's kitchen and watched and listened while Ayesha explained the concepts and ingredients used in Indian cooking. She had given all of us copies of her recipes and we followed them exactly. It was a very friendly group and Ayesha encouraged questions and interactions. After the meal was prepared, we had the opportunity to eat the fruits of her labors. The meal was delicious and we ate outside under the chicki hut. It was a wonderful experience and I look forward to taking more of the classes. Great for foodies and Indian food lovers.

I just completed my 5th class at Ayesha’s (HOME) kitchen.
Ayesha is a very organized and enthusiastic teacher with a huge smile.
More importantly her recipes were EASY to duplicate at home. She even sells you (for a nominal fee) a starter kit with all the spices measured out exactly so your first try at home will go smoothly. I went with my college age daughter who loves Indian food. We all enjoyed eating
our Indian lunch under Ayesha's chikee hut following the class! Book classes early because every class sells out fast.
Great gift idea for birthdays, Mother's day, Fathers day or for me anyday!

My first cooking class with Ayesha’s Kitchen was an amazing experience, I have since taken 2 more classes and cannot wait until her schedule this fall to sign up for more. Ayesha makes the class very educational, hands on and entertaining - the meals are delicious, and the best part is recreating them at home for friends and family!

It is with great regret that suggest avoiding this class mainly due to the fact that Ayesha is nice and enthusiastic, however, I found her class to be much less involved, both physically and information wise, poorly put together (students were reading off ingredients), and overall underwhelming. Note: my class did not involve actual cooking while some classes do, this one did not; I was not made aware of this prior to the class.
Pros:
Food was tasty and she seemed reasonably knowledgeable, however, I found it hard at times to really access any kind of knowledge as she spoke at a rapid pace with regular side bars that did not always pertain to the subject matter. As for the actual flavors, individual dishes were well seasoned with fresh spices and delicious flavor, but because she cooks everything herself dishes were poorly sequenced and ended up lacking the right texture and temperature when eaten nearly 90 minutes after they were finished. The chicken that was cooked first was left out cold for nearly an hour and the butternut squash began to get soggy and lost the firmness she mentioned.
Cons:
The class took place in her home kitchen which is tiny, cramped, and warm. Since her stove is against the wall, her back was to us for most a large part of the class while she added ingredients, cleaned, all the while, speaking at a frantic pace. I am sure she is well versed in Indian cuisine, I did not leave feeling any more knowledgeable about the subject matter except for the health benefits of the ingredients used. Being behind the stove in a small kitchen, there was a camera connected to a small TV off to the right which regularly got foggy and didn't allow a clear picture. I have done cooking class in Mexico, US, China, Vietnam, and Thailand so perhaps my expectations were kind of high going in, but I would recommend her making a few changes.
Suggestions:
Have the cooking class in another location or room. Perhaps get several individual burners and host the class on a table so you can face the students. An assistant would be helpful to bring items, cook, and clean while Ayesha continues speaking. If pressed I would say try a few youtube videos first before committing 85$ for a class. Spend less time promoting products and have them readily available for purchase, not strung out on the table at the end. I've done several classes up Ft. Lauderdale that were 70-100$ and took place in a professional kitchen.

I highly recommend attending several of Ayesha's Indian cooking classes. I am not an experienced cook or chef, but she makes the class fun and educational at the same time. She is an enthusiastic and passionate teacher and she passes along many health tips along the way (which spices aid digestion or inflammation). The classes are well-organized and as a group, we help to assemble and cook the ingredients. Then we all eat together--and the food is simply amazing!
She also sells samples of the ingredients for each class so you can try the recipes immediately at home. I have already attended two classes and can't wait to sign up in the Fall so take some more!

Ayesha's Kitchen isn't physically big, but it's potential is enormous. For me, this class was an easy introduction into Indian cuisine. Ayesha is tiny and has a huge personality. Her passion for Indian cooking is contagious. She makes these foreign recipes fun and accessible.Your three hours end with a fabulous meal in her beautiful garden. I highly recommend this experience!
