About
We host both Art Deco & Little Havana Tours. In Miami mainland we offer the original, indepth cultural walking tour of Little Havana that shares the rich stories behind unassuming buildings, landmarks, traditions and people within a greater context of heritage. Your expert guide will delve into the history of Cuban exiles and the Bay of Pigs battle. You'll also visit the oldest fruit marketplace and Domino Park, sample refreshing tropical juice; witness tobacco leaves handrolled into fine cigars; admire largest Cuban art collection; sway or dance to the rhythms of salsa or bachata; meet and talk to locals; sip Cuban coffee. Take the longer tour and end it with a savory, homemade lunch. Tours offered daily at 10am. Private tours also available to focus on your interests: photography, art, food, cocktails, cigars or any combination. We recommend booking your tour directly with us for best prices and perks.)

James was our guide. Very nice guy and obviously knows the area very well having lives here for 20-30 years. The tour starts with a 30-40 minute history of the area of Miami Beach and how James came to the area, and enjoying a cocktail. Then visiting the exterior and interior of several Art Deco hotels and more cocktails. Going inside the hotels is one of the best parts as some have the original interior from 1930s and James knows all about all of them. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in Miami Art Deco thanks so much James!

Hello!
Thank you for sharing your experience on the ART DECO COCKTAIL tour with James. He is certainly a lively entertainer and has a passion for the history and architecture of South Beach. What better way to learn than a pre-dinner cocktail tour where you can sit inside and enjoy the design and ambiance.
Thank you again.
Cheers!

We had an excellent time exploring Little Havana with our guide, Mariela. She was extremely knowledgeable and engaging, and the tour was full of fun stops where we learned quite a bit. Highly recommend doing this guided tour, as you get a lot more of Little Havana by learning the history rather than just walking the streets.

Somewhere between 2 and 3 rating is more appropriate. Jordan, our tour guide, was thrown off her performance because the first stop was not available. This seemed to throw her off, so we went to the grocery store across the street.
Twice, I asked her to speak up as her voice did not carry over the noise around us. She never did.
Our food tour, which cost more money, was consolidated with another tour for less money, and you really couldn't call this a food tour.
Here is what the website said," A celebration of food! Foodie lovers, come famished as you will overindulge with a range of food and drinks-tropical juice, fresh baked pastry, a Cuban sandwich or empanada, Cuban coffee, samplings of a hot meal, a classic mojito cocktail, and dessert (either Cuban ice cream or dark chocolate)." This tour fell short of that AND we had to pay extra for the mojito.
The company did not give us a refund on the difference between the two tours. It was coffee and pastry at the grocery store and lunch at the end of the tour (less than 2 hours in total including the time we waited for Jordan to call her office to figure out what to do with the first stop being unavailable).
Been on other cultural tours and other food tours in different cities around the world and this one rates at the bottom from my experience.

Let start by saying we had a great day with this Art Deco tour group. Our guide Arel is very knowledgeable, funny, kind and helpful. I enjoyed how he interacted with he small Cuban owned shops we stopped. He history of each place the significance of why he chose these shops to stop at. My favorite part of our day was the market and the coffee. I have been craving the coffee for days. We enjoyed the neighborhood so much we explored for a few more hours. Stopping at the churro shop
The having a snack at a sidewalk cafe. I will recommend this group and their tours to anyone who finds themselves on Miami

Of all the tours I took in Miami this week, the Little Havana tour was the most fun, most enlightening, and best value. We learned much about Cuba and Cubans, and got to taste many Cuban flavors, all within an easy walk. Guide Danny is a treasure who knows everything but shares just enough.

We booked this tour last minute due to changes in our plans. Glad we did. A casual stroll stopping for cultural and historical information. Food tastinf included fresh press sugar cane(delicious), churros, cafe con Leche (Cuban coffee), ending with lunch. Nice garden seating at Old Havana Cuban bar. The cigar store tour was nice and the clothing store Cubavera with information we found interesting. A stop and talk on the singer Cruz( Azucar) was great information. Jordan did a fantastic job of keeping the child in the group from getting antsy by having her count the roosters and incorporated it into the tour. (She treated her to Cuban ice cream afterwards)My only regret is not going for ice cream myself. Would love to have spent
More time but we skimmed the surface and would definitely recommend!

We’ve been on quite a few walking tours in our day and this was one of our favorites! We chose the Little Havana tour (without the lunch option), and it’s 100% worth the money with all the tips, knowledge, and snacks you pick up along the way. Our guide Christine was the real MVP, as our guide had to cancel last minute and she filled in. She was fun, friendly, very knowledgeable, and she built a fabulous rapport among our group! We went back to both the cigar shop and clothing store after the tour to buy some souvenirs. This was an amazing way to get the inside scoop on both the history and current culture of Little Havana.

Great experience on the Cigar and Rum Tasting Tour with Darine! Darine is Cuban American and shared her informed perspective of the Cuban culture and history as well as about the food, rum and cigar culture of Cuba and Miami. We learned so much, and it was all done through normal everyday easy conversations with Darine as we strolled down 8th Avenue in Little Havana. It felt like we were stepping right into Cuba each time we entered a cigar lounge, store or bar. We had veteran and novice cigar smokers in the group, and all of us really enjoyed the three hours we spent learning so much on the tour. Highly recommend!

We are thrilled to hear about your wonderful experience on the Cigar and Rum Tasting Tour with Darine! Her unique perspective as a Cuban American must have added a special touch to the tour, allowing you to delve into both Cuban and Miami culture, history, food, and the world of rum and cigars. It sounds like the tour was not only educational but also immersive, as you strolled through Little Havana's 8th Avenue, feeling like you were transported to Cuba with every visit to a cigar lounge, store, or bar. It's fantastic that both seasoned and novice cigar enthusiasts in your group were equally captivated, making those three hours both informative and enjoyable. Thank you for the enthusiastic recommendation!

James background as a writer and long time resident of Miami Beach, really shone through his stories and the details he provided about the history and the Art Deco architecture of the South Beach area. We learned a TON and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We highly recommend both the tour and James!

Do you have early evening food walking tours for Little Havana ?
Written March 18, 2017
I don't believe they offer evening food walking tours. If you click on the "BOOK ONLINE" link of their website, it only offers morning bookings. Little Havana Walking Tours is very good at responding to emails, however. Perhaps they could answer their question. Or do a Google search - that shows many other options for evening food tours of Little Havana.

Are tours available on Sundays? If so, what time? Will shops be open if it starts at 10?
Written July 26, 2016
They do it every day, but ours started at 11:30, not at 10. Yes, the shops are open.
Written July 27, 2016
I would say 45 min ride from the airport area with week day traffic. Well worth every minute.

We would be interested in a walking tour of Little Havana on either December 27 or 28. What time is the tour? is there only one per day? What is the cost. There will be 3 adults. We will probably be staying at an airport hotel. Will you pick up and drop off at the hotel?

I would love to do this, but my flight lands on Sunday at 6:10pm and I leave for a cruise the following day. Is there any way we could do an evening tour? maybe some dinner or something?
Written May 26, 2015
Hello, unfortunately most places close early on Sunday in Little Havana as it's located in quiet residential neighborhood. With the exception of a couple of restaurants and bars, most shops close before 5pm.
