Great flight adventure over Miami Beach and harbour in 4 seat seaplane . The arrangements were well planned and executed. The friendly pilot gave us a splendid commentary during the flight. We planned the trip en route to the airport after a cruise. The company kindly stored our luggage whilst we took our flight. A taxi rank is only 200 metres from their offices so you can easily make your own travel arrangements. We took the 30 minute sight seeing tour. I think that was just right.

From the customer service to driving away from the parking lot......A++ service and the experience was wonderful! I initially couldn't find the place and the individual on the phone was extremely helpful along with the gentleman who checked us in along with the pilot. Our pilot was not only very friendly, courteous and an exceptional pilot. He did a great job of narrating and piloting the plane. Gorgeous views of the ocean, beach and city. We saw manatees, sharks and dolphins. My girlfriend and I both drove away calling our friends and family to tell them about how great of a time we both had. Definitely one of the best experiences we have ever had! Thank you Miami Sea Planes! Next time we will hopefully do the 2hr flight.

Wow! Why didn’t we do this sooner? What a great experience flying over the city, the bay and the ocean. Our pilot and tour guide was a native Miamian (who knew there were any) who brought his own special knowledge and passion for the city to life for us. From take off to touch down we were engaged by his stories and history lessons and blown away by the views of the skyline, the islands, the mansions and the stiltsville shacks. The most memorable part of the trip may well have been flying over Biscayne Bay National Park and seeing sharks, stingrays and schools of fish just a few miles from downtown. The trip really did give us a whole new perspective on the city and the environment.
We can’t wait to plan our next flight!

I took a chartered flight on Miami Seaplane Tours to Kamalame Cay in the Bahamas with my family, including my infant. Miami Seaplane Tour's operation was unsafe and unprofessional and put me and my family in danger.

The transfer to Kamalame Cay was -- and still is -- advertised on their website. The Sales team promised to “be in touch with the resort about bringing you and picking you up.”

It became clear upon nearing the hotel that this operator is not familiar with transferring hotel guests to Kamalame Cay and has never been in touch with the hotel. The pilot circled and seemed unsure of where to land. He did not fly with a radio so could not contact the hotel. He ultimately decided to touch down in a shallow area where planes are not meant to land. The situation was unsafe and the plane became beached. The hotel staff and my spouse had to get in the water and tow the plan to a safe, deeper water where a boat could pick us up (while my baby cried).

Naturally, I contacted Miami Seaplane Tours to cancel our return flight and request a partial refund. They refused to issue the refund. In fact, they wouldn't even acknowledge the circumstances and sent bizarre emails in response to my requests ("Glad to hear from you Lauren! 😃 We'll see you at 14:00 tomorrow. Weather is supposed to be outstanding. ☀️").

This operator falsely advertised a service and put our family at risk.

Dear Mrs. L Thank you for choosing to fly with Miami seaplane Tours. We are sorry if we did not meet your expectations. We are perplexed you described your flight as unsafe, on the day of your flight the weather was beautiful. We understand this experience may have been different from your expectations, unlike land-based airplanes which are operated in a controlled environment with marked runways clear of obstructions, Seaplanes operate in a completely un-controlled environment where the Pilot takes into consideration the climactic conditions such as wind, tides, currents and obstructions at the time of arrival wherever this happens to be. Your Pilot took you and your family Safely to Kamalame Cay that day, we understand that seaplane flying may not be for everyone, however, calling our operation unsafe in an attempt to obtain a refund is just not right. By the way....THANK YOU FOR SHARING!

So I bought 4 Groupons at $75 for our family (a total of $300) when we visited Miami in June 2012. The booking process was very easy. They answered the phone promptly, had our Groupon codes down and sent us a boarding pass for 2 flights as we split into two parties as we take turn to look after a young baby. They told us that tax and gratuity were not included and if we want to pay by credit card we should call one day before or we will need to pay by cash to the pilot. I called the day before our flights and said I want to pay the tax by credit card and will give the pilot tip in cash. Knowing Floridan tax is about 7% that would be roughly $20 so I didn't ask them to confirm the total amount charged.
The flight was very enjoyable. The pilot has a lot of local knowledge and was very pleasant. He told us that he owns this company and two planes and he is going to buy a new bigger plane.
My husband said that the pilot shouldn't expect any tip as he would make a lot of money from this business. However, I decided to tip him because I enjoyed his talk about the area.
We received an invoice of $110 in my email stating "GT for flights". I called them up to clarify. The same lady who took my credit card confirmed the tax was $20 and the rest was for gratuity I said I only authorised the tax charge and I already tipped the pilot and that I never authorised them to do that on my credit card. She told me I need to talk to Tony. The first thing he asked me "How much did you tip the pilot?" When I told him, he said bluntly "That is not customary. It should be 15% on the full price of the flights which is $600 if you didn't buy from Groupon". Thats why they charged me $90. He asked or "offered" me if I want to get a refund of $40 for the tip that I already gave the pilot.
I believe in tipping but it is for service people who earn $8.50/ hour at restaurants/ hotels who rely on tipping for their living. However, for a pilot who earns a high wage or owns his own company, tipping should be at customer's discretion, not by forced tipping which is the case here.
What I also found that their attitude was defiant about the charge when it was clear that I did't authorise it. What was not transparent was they didn't itemise the tax charge of $20 in my $110 invoice but indicated it all as GT for gratuity.
I wondered if they did that to avoid the tax and try to capture the discount they offered on Groupon. I have written to them to request the full refund. I hope to hear from other people's experiences.

This is one of the most fun things that my husband and I have ever done. Our pilot Tony was wonderful. He pointed out everything to us, had lots of history to share, answered all of our questions. Our lunch was good, but you are not “paying”for the lunch. Yes it is included, but it is just a normal restaurant in the Keys. The snapper was wonderful. Take this trip, it was super fun!

In MAY 27 i phoned to your base (nº 305.361.3909) when i got confirmation about the tour in the next day (MAY 28).

In MAY 28, we stayed there from 09 to 10:30 AM and the base was closed.

Reaching back at my hotel (DREAM MIAMI) i phoned to nº 305.361.3909 and was informed about the wheater conditions and was invited to reschedule the tour.

So i explained to the atendent that MAY 28 was my last day in Miami, so i couldnt reschedule the flight.

So the atendent told me she would wait for the supervisor to explain the situation, and also told me that i would be contacted by e_mail with the supervisor's information about the refund.

Since then total silence. No contact or reply to my emails

Miami Seaplane values the safety of our customers and pilots above all. The weather conditions for the flight were not safe for flying on the morning of the tour. As per the customer boarding passes, clients must call the day of the flight at 9:00 AM to confirm weather so that miscommunications do not occur. We attempted to reach out via e-mail, to the cell phone number on file, and the DREAM hotel, but were unable to reach you. While company policy also found on boarding passes states flights are non-refundable, the option to reschedule was given on the day of, the credit for the flight remains on your account for further use at anytime. This was explained both on the phone and in the e-mail sent to you the same day you reached out about a refund.

Our wives put this awesome day- trip adventure together and I feel compelled to write an inspirational review of our experience. DO IT, Book the flight!!! The owner Tony and his Son Adriel, are incredibly talented, SAFE, and passionate about flying and bringing this experience to you. They were consummate professional Pilots. Water flying is something everyone should experience. Four of us booked 2 planes, Cessna 172’s on floats. The father son team flew us to key west where we lunched at louie’s backyard, and then walked duval st. Before returning to Miami at sunset. What a day! What an adventure! What a great experience and memory we have forever... like I said.... Do it!! Joe from Jupiter Florida told ya so.. say hello to Tony and Adriel for me.👍👍

We had a short trip to southern Florida, and this excursion was truly the best way to experience both Miami and the Everglades in a matter of hours.

Our pilot, Adriel, was a super cool guy, and the type of guide that you'd remember as equally as the experience itself. He was friendly, easy-going, and very knowledgeable about the region, the aircraft, and low-altitude flights.

Our take-offs and landings were seamless on both ends of tour. The flight along the Miami skyline and beaches was super fun, and the airboat portion of the trip was equally as educational and entertaining as everything else.

One note worth throwing in.... This excursion was literally the last thing we were doing before heading to the airport to catch our flights home, so we arrived at our "meeting spot" (random parking lot near the water), via an UBER with our luggage in hand. There was not a company office available to store our luggage in while we were on the tour. Thankfully, our pilot was able to accommodate our two carry-on suitcases and two backpacks in the very small space behind our seats on the plane, otherwise I don't know where we would have left it for the duration of the tour.

Thank you for the kind words, please note we have since your flight opened a new office on location so in the future the luggage storage will not be issue.
