About
You can’t miss the entrance to the home of Space Shuttle Atlantis®: a mighty full-scale space shuttle stack of two solid rocket boosters and orange external tank. Inside, Atlantis is displayed as only astronauts have seen her in space, rotated 43.21 degrees with payload doors open and Canadarm extended, as if just undocked from the International Space Station (ISS). It is one of three space-flown shuttles displayed in the United States. Also inside, learn how to dock and land the shuttle with training simulators, enjoy more than 60 interactive exhibits, and then strap in for lift-off at Shuttle Launch Experience®. Atlantis Walking Tours depart from the third floor at 10:30 AM, 11:45 AM, 1:30 PM, and 4:15 PM daily.

Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit at KSC showcases the orbiter spacecraft and tells the story of NASA’s 30 year Space Shuttle Program. It is only one of three space flown shuttles displayed in US. Would very highly recommend doing the space shuttle simulation ride at this exhibit. It is not at all scary but gives a good virtual experience of traveling in a space shuttle. One will need to spare at least 90 minutes for this exhibit to enjoy it to the fullest.

This is located at the northeast corner of the Kennedy Space Visitor complex. It is just north of the bus drop-off and east of the outdoor memorial. It is hard to miss since it has the Space shuttle External tank and solid rocket boosters standing outside the front of it. This building has many exciting features for visitors to see. It has an introductory movie experience, a real space shuttle, interactive experiences, a slide for kids, a shuttle simulator, a memorial, and a gift shop. The visuals throughout the building are very well done. The introductory preshow that explains how the shuttle idea started is very well done and explains the challenges that the idea went through to become a reality. It leads to a novel viewing experience that leads out into the large bay where the real shuttle is displayed with bay doors open and robotic arm outstretched. We took the guided tour that was available and Bart did a wonderful job of explaining details about the shuttle program and the shuttle. We chose to pay our respects in the memorial to the Columbia and Challenger Shuttle astronauts that are located on the bottom floor next to the exit. Overall, this is a must-see at the Space Center complex.

I visited the Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit with my family recently. The Atlantis exhibit is one of the highlights of the Kennedy Space Center. Outside of the exhibit are a pair of solid fuel booster rockets and a fuel tank like those that were used to launch the space shuttles. They are very large and give a great perspective to the scale of the space shuttle program. Inside of the building is a very well-presented exhibit about the space shuttle program. The highlight, of course, is the Space Shuttle Atlantis displayed inside. It is titled slightly to the side with the cargo bay open and the robotic arm extended. There is a real wow factor to the display and it is quite amazing. Also within the exhibit hall is a simulator ride that is made to replicate the experience of a space shuttle launch.
There is a very moving area with a memorial and tribute to the 14 astronauts who lost their lives on the Space Shuttle Challenger and the Space Shuttle Columbia.
The exhibit is very well presented, very informative, and moving.
I highly recommend a visit to the Space Shuttle Atlantis at the Kennedy Space Center.

The Space Shuttle Atlantis might be one of the underrated exhibits at the Kennedy Space Center. This huge building that houses the shuttle has a bevy of exhibits for children and adults alike from a 2 story slide to a simulator on a shuttle take off. Amazing place. Our favorite moment was running into a young man dressed as an astronaut named Lucky who was walking around with a bowl of ice cubes. Jolly Chriss.

Awesome to see in person but the line to get to see it was so long, over an hour and the building is way over crowded. I saw a sign that said maximum Occupancy was 1,000 but there was probably twice that there in the building. I'd go again but on a day when it isn't crowed and there isn't a launch

The Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is an incredible experience!
You walk through immensely life-sized shuttle boosters into the two-story facility. After a couple short movies depicting the development and launch of the NASA space shuttle program, Atlantis is revealed. You can walk along the length of the craft, looking into the large cargo bay. There are displays of the Hubble Telescope, the shuttle engines, mock-ups of the pilot and cargo bay control consoles, and other displays. There is a play area for kids, and a shuttle landing slide to the first floor. The first floor includes an awesome launch simulator ride with educational narration, landing computer simulators, displays of life on board the shuttle, and a moving memorial to the shuttle astronauts who perished. Finally, you leave through the gift shop!

All I can saw is, wow! The size and scope is truly amazing. The engineering that went into it is mind boggling. There are many hands on learning opportunities for adults and for children, as well as a simulatedflight. You will be glad you visited.

This is the best shuttle exhibit I've seen. You can see the top, the cargo bay, and into the windows of the crew cabin. There were many interactive exhibit to teach about all the different jobs and people who worked on the space shuttle. There was a realistic shuttle launch simulator.

We waited for 10 minutes, watched a video, then into a movie, then finally the atlantis. Lots of interactive in with this, love the space toilet. The blast off simulator was really cool. Ends in a gift shop (must have learned this from Disney!) The slide was a huge hit with all of our kids & adults.
