About
Gametrackers (K) Ltd are tour operators offering adventure safaris in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda and have been in operation since 1981. Our tours vary from budget to luxury camping, lodge and Tailor-made Private Safaris catering for individuals and families. We organize Safaris for large groups through our fleet of expedition trucks (schools, churches, Universities, GAP year students, mobile clinics etc), though our main area of expertise remains Camping Safaris – often to some of the remotest parts in East Africa. We remain one of the few operators who still operate road Safaris to the distant North of Kenya; the Lake Turkana region. Our fleet of 4x4 land cruisers caters for families and smaller groups who prefer accommodated tours in lodges and tented camps.

Gametrackers LTD is simply THE company to do Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda with. In business since the early 1980s, Gametrackers understands how to do safaris. I have now taken three safaris with Gametrackers and each one has been totally amazing. Gametrackers understands that you want to spend as much time as possible on the drives to see the animals. Many companies shave time off the drives. A four hour safari game drive in South Africa may become just two hours. Not with Gametrackers. They keep their word and make sure you have maximum time with the wildlife. We put together our own itinerary, and they made it happen. We went to Meru National Park, Samburu, Kakamega Forest, Kibale in Uganda, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and the Impenetrable Forest. Just an amazing adventure. We camped for six nights and spent the rest the time in hotels. That's a nice way to do it. Stacey is amazing and will make sure all your needs are met. If you can get Rufus as your driver/guide, he is just amazing. And Benard is simply the best cook you could ever ask for. Book with Gametrackers. You'll be glad you did.

I planned our trip pre-pandemic in 2019 and initially I booked with Gametrackers an 8-day safari only, but when at the end of January 2022, we decided to start to travel again, I planned our whole trip with them to have one place of contact if we had to cancel again. This turned out to be a great decision because everything was organized perfectly. We did not have to worry about anything because every accommodation, transport, activity, and PCR test were taken care of.

When I selected Gametrackers I compared them with 4 other tour companies that were mentioned in my travel guides and I chose them because of their long experience, the company exists since over 40 years, and their reasonable pricing – some other companies offered the same safari, with the same accommodations and transport for up to 18% more. It tuned out that Gametrackers have also the most experienced and knowledgable guides. Rufus who traveled with us for 10 days is amazing. Not only he can answer every question you could think of, but he also knows where the lions are climbing trees, giraffes are drinking water, the leopards are hunting. He is the best travel companion you can think of, we just had to express our wishes, and he took care of them. We were so spoiled.

One other thing that is very important for a safari is the vehicle and Gametrackers has simply the best. Their cars are specifically adapted for game viewing. You can lift the roof so that you have a 360 view, and you are still protected from the sun.
Before the travel we had our doubts if it is safe to travel again, but now we are so happy we did it. I read in my guidebooks that in high season it can get busy to the extent that you have 20 cars parked next to every sleeping lion, but we had it all undisturbed. Gametrackers guides are all vaccinated and tested before the start of the trip. The hotels are arranging a doctor to come in the hotel to take the PCR test if needed. Everything was much easier than expected.

Our trip started in Nairobi. The safari included in Kenya: Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha, and Amboseli, in Tanzania: Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park. Then we flew from Arusha to Zanzibar visiting Stone Town and Chumbe Island. At the end we travelled home from Dar es Saalam. It was an amazing experience.

I really enjoyed the tour with Gametrackers! Seeing and interacting with the tribes (especially the Turkana and El Molo tribes) was especially interesting and rewarding! I loved it!

Rufus was an excellent guide who was knowledgeable, personable, and witty (he could go into stand up comedy!). And Calab was simply an amazing cook! I told him he should publish a cookbook!

Anyway the tour was superb! The itinerary was perfect! And their continuous and straightforward communication was integral in ensuring everyone knew what was happening.

I also felt very safe on this trip even in the midst of the pandemic. We only had 4 travelers, who were all vaccinated, and Rufus took our temperature and asked us how we felt every night.

Thanks you for amazing experience!!

On a recent trip to Nairobi we booked a trip to Naivasha with Gametrackers which was so good we booked a trip to Amboseli for the following weekend. On both occasions we were really lucky to have Adrian to guide us. He has a degree in wildlife conservation, and knows a remarkable amount about the birds and animals, and about conservation and the ways in which the human environment is encroaching on the wildlife. Adrian also has quite remarkable eyesight, with an ability to spot and recognise animals in the distance that we could hardly see, which hugely enhanced our experience of the trips.
I would also recommend all of the trips we took.
The boat trip on Lake Naivasha was wonderful, not just seeing fish eagles, king-fishers and hippopotamus on the lake, but also seeing game onshore from the lake.
We took the cycle tour of the Hells Gate park, just near Naivasha, which is an extraordinary trip. Not only the freedom of being able to cycle through the park, past warthogs and buffalo, zebra and wildebeest, but also the geography of the park, with dramatic cliffs and gorges, apparently the setting that inspired the Lion King.
The the second weekend we went to Amboseli - a four hour drive but well worth it. The Amboseli reserve has a range of environments from marsh and swamp to dry savannah, all under the enormous presence of Kilamanjaro. We saw lions after a kill, elephants walking past the camp at breakfast, catfish and storks, hyena and flamingos, and most memorably, when Adrian spotted some bat-eared foxes with cubs, a Martial Eagle flew down and took one of the cubs.
I'd strongly recommend Gametrackers for putting together a custom tour to meet your needs, to get the best tours of the best parks.

I have done 4 trips through Gametrackers over the past 6 years. I keep coming back because I have had nothing but great experiences and I feel like I get the insider's experience of East Africa. They are easy to work with, knowledgeable in East Africa tourism, professional, find good deals and are flexible to meet my expectations for the trip. Everything is hassle-free. They take care of the planning, park entrances, meals, driving, equipment, etc. All I have to do is show up and have fun. I have traveled with groups as large as 25 and as small as 2 for as long as 3 weeks and as short as one weekend. They have always tailored the trip perfectly to our group size and trip length.

Gametrackers was quick to respond to my inquiries and have planned trips for me on short notice. The guides are been fun and very knowledgeable in wildlife, history, terrain, etc. I ate well on their safaris. The chefs prepared warm tasty meals even when camping far out in the bush. Their drivers are skilled and have taken me to some remarkable places down rough, muddy roads that I would not be able to go otherwise. One time they even towed other safari companies whose vehicles were stuck in the mud. I always felt safe on these safaris.

The guides have an knack for finding wildlife. Somehow they have managed to find the most reclusive animals (leopards, cheetahs, etc) for me, even when nothing is guaranteed in nature. One of my favorite experiences was when 6 lions came and laid in the shadow of our land cruiser during a safari drive.

Their vehicles are comfortable and offer great views for seeing animals and geography. Their tents are spacious and watertight. I've survived some intense rainstorms in their tents. I highly recommend their camping safaris as it is a true adventure to be out in the African bush. On the other hand, they have also organized great trips to beautiful beaches and fancy lodges for me. They can do it all, whatever you prefer.

My trips have included the following sights in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania: Murchison Falls NP, Serengeti NP, Tsavo East/West NP, hiking at Mt Kilimanjaro, Amboseli NP, Whitewater rafting in Jinja, Ngorongoro Crater, Zanzibar, Lake Turkana, Maasai Mara, Mombasa, Diani, Kilifi, Lake Magadi, Chalbi Desert, Hell's Kitchen, Samburu NR, Nakuru, Lake Baringo, Lake Bagoria, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Shimoni caves, Mt Kenya, and Lamu. Pretty much anything I wanted to do and anywhere I wanted to go.

Highly recommend Gametrackers.

Because of a security breach on the email servers of gametrakes,
Our entire advance payment was gone to the hackers.
They offered us no compensation and took no responsibility,
If you do go traveling with them, I recommend not transferring them any money in advance.

We are sorry that you were unable to travel with us this year due to cyber-crime. Our accounts were not compromised and there was no breach. The spammer could have forged the from address and sent a spam/phishing email. Spammers can forge, or "spoof," your domain's From address to make their spam look like it came from someone in your domain. It is not possible to prevent spammers from sending spoofed emails and this can happen to anyone. They will be able to use any email ID to send mails as there are a lot of open relays or unauthenticated SMTP servers available. Bear in mind an email attack can happen both ways. All payments are done via our safe and secure online booking payment portal. We take account security seriously. Sincerely; Stacey

Our guide was a delightful man, he was incredibly knowledgeable. We drove slowly up the Thika Highway, taking in the scenery on enroute and stopped whenever we wanted. Once there we had a couple of days in and around the park and were fortunate to see a wealth of wildlife.. I would highly recommend this company.

Gametrackers Safari provided a high level of service in arranging and coordinating my 8-day safari throughout Kenya. Judy was very responsive to my inquiries during the time that I was planning the trip, especially since I was a solo traveler.

Martin Tate, my guide, was a professional in every sense. Martin knew from instinct and experience how to find locations where the more elusive animals like cheetahs, leopards, and lions were located in the parks. Martin was very patient and allowed me the opportunity to stay awhile and enjoy the company of elephants, giraffes, lions, and baboons and he also helped explain different aspects of an animal's behavior. Finally, as a mechanic by background, he knew how to navigate Kenya's roads, especially the ones in the national parks which are not paved and are difficult to traverse under the best of circumstances and even worse when it rains.

My only recommendation in working with Gametrackers would be to independently research and review the lodging arrangements that it recommends. Flamingo Hill Tented Camp in Lake Nakura, for example, was excellent. On the other hand, the same could not be said for AA Lodge in Amboseli National Park. Be prepared to pay a higher fee for an improved level of accommodations.

This was a bucket-list trip for my elderly, quadriplegic dad, who’s wanted to see East Africa since he was a young reader. Gametrackers isn't a handicap safari company, but my brother and I were the muscle, and Gametrackers did their thing to support our group of six.
I've been on safari before, but this was a very different experience, and not just in terms of bringing my dad along. The amount of wildlife and vastness of the veldt was unmatched. I get goose bumps just writing about it.
Gametrackers made an extremely difficult task doable, and they did it with grace and patience. We had a few requirements to contend with (one person is handicapped, two are vegetarians, a few late-risers, etc) and the company did a terrific job.
I highly recommend staying at the AirB&B named Silole Cottage on the south side of Nairobi National Park (Robert Taxi is 50 min from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, at a cost of 3,000 Kenya shillings, only $30 USD) with Will as host. He’s a great guy, and he offers excellent game drives in his safari trucks. This was a great indoctrination to the country, with great views, ample space, and a short distance from Gametrackers HQ.
We used guide/drivers Rufus and Peter, and cook Murimi. These guys were the real deal – and no joke when I say that Rufus on a few instances anticipated where an animal would go (it’d be laying down), and Rufus would maneuver the truck a distance away, and the animal would then get up and walk over to us, permitting us to get some incredible views and photographs. Murimi’s cooking was dynamite. An ideal bonus to an already exquisite time.
We saw Amboseli, with gorgeous views of Kilimanjaro to the south, idyllic Naivasha with its lovely lake, and unparalleled, vast Maasai Mara. If you only have time for one park, I’d urge you to do the latter. The only animal we didn’t manage to see was rhino…which AirB&B Will helped us locate (9 of them in one morning) during his Nairobi National Park game drive. Honorable mention goes to Lucy, the semi-domesticated eland at the camp in Maasai Mara who loves a scratch between her horns.
I loved the whole experience enough that I've started laying the groundwork for a similar trip for just me and my wife in about 2 years, and we will use AirB&B Will and Gametrackers.
I absolutely hope you can duplicate even a fraction of the experience we had. You’ll absolutely love it.
