Wonderful playground for the kids, nice wide sandy beach. Decent rentals. Be aware the beach is on the back side of a expansive mangrove stand, so the water in front is a murky tidal pool. To get to the ocean is about a 1/2 mile walk. But worth it!

Lagoon has rental Kayaks and Water Cycles, in addition to Cabanas and chairs. Child playground next to the snack bar that serves beer and wine for the adults! Also Cheeseburgers but $11.50 seems high. Access to gulf is around the lagoon to the South or wade through waist high water at the North end.

We love this beach and have visited often over our eight years in Marco Island. You can unload your chairs, umbrellas, etc on the lagoon, but we find it more enjoyable to wade across (check tide charts for a shallow crossing) and park your beach stuff on the ocean side. If you care to hike the beach, head north to... More

Our first choice for beaches was completely out of parking so Tigertail was our next option. Plenty of parking available so that's not an issue. There is an approximately 100 yard portion of a sandbar to wade across to make it all the way to the gulf beach. My kids thought this was the coolest part bc not everyone was... More

TIgertail Beach is great! The price is right. $8 all day or at the parks other beaches in same day. There is a food stand but advise to pack food and drink.

Great beach and fun adventure to wade across shallow water to get there. We had four kids in our group and they all enjoyed collecting shells and jumping smallish waves. Adults enjoyed the beautiful views! The little snack shop near the parking lot was great for a cold treat after being in the sun all afternoon. The parking lot attendant... More

Visited mid February and fell in love with this beach. You can take a short cut to the outer beach through a lagoon or take a 10 - 15 minute trek around (which is what we opted to do). White powder sand, blue skies and water .. just amazing. The inner beach is worth a visit all on its own,... More

This beach on the lagoon side is perfect for little kids! You have plenty of sand for beach toys and sand castles, as well as lots of very shallow water for them to play and wade-in! We spent the entire day here, and rented a cabana so my son could get out of the rays and take a nap. It... More

Day started with heavy rain but in afternoon the rain stopped and we had partly sunny conditions. On a whim we headed for the beach but did not check the tide chart. Did not wear bathing suits as just wanted to do some shelling along the beach. It was too deep to cross the inlet to get to the beach... More

Will be staying on Marco Island in March 21-20. A few questions about Tiger tail beach parking and lagoon crossing.

Are you able to park before 8 am? We will have but would like to have a few all day beach excursion would like to drive in order bring our beach gear( chair, cooler ect..)

The "crossing". I am not a big fan of walking in water above my waist. So I do have a reservation in crossing the lagoon. ( I have watched videos) But at the same time I would like to experience crossing the lagoon in order to get the full unique experience of our visit. So I have a few questions.

Are their any dangers in crossing the lagoon. Is there any risk in crossing at dawn I have seen people say this water is murky with lots of fish therefore I do not know if there would be potential of sharks feeding,. I am not sure of the if the lagoon is open to the gulf. Also I am not not well versed in alligators or crocodiles so is this an area that this can be a concern? I realize that these may be silly questions but non the less I am asking lol...... I could not find any answers to these questions so perhaps these are no issues in the lagoon.

How deep in the deepest part of the crossing my wife is 5' 4" so I would like to have an idea to give her a reference.

What is the depth difference between low tide and high tide. As it appears low tide in in the early morning and high tide is about 2 pm. therefore I am guessing on the way back the water level will be higher.

Any feedback would be appreciated. I realize you can walk around however I would like to overcome my reservation (fear) and cross the lagoon.
