The "Pass", as locals refer to it, was created by a hurricane on September 27, 1848. A pirate, John Levique, made the first passage through the newly created pass. Hence the name, Johns Pass. Located on the waterfront at Johns Pass, this quaint turn-of-the-century fishing village is Pinellas County's #1 tourist attraction. Over one hundred merchants inhabit the Village with unique retail shopping, a variety of restaurants, the local fishing fleet, dolphin watching and shelling tours, boat rentals, parasailing and jet skiing.

Lots of restaurants, fried food, local servers, casual dining. Stopped into two places, sat down and waited for service, but none came. Ended up at Hooters for grouper sandwiches. Didn't want to dine at a chain, but it was the only place with sufficient wait staff.

This is a great place to spend an day or just an afternoon. There is plenty of shopping of every kind. There are a lot of different kinds of restaurants for every ones taste. From the boardwalk you can watch the dolphins swimming and boats coming and going, or take a boat ride. There is a charge for parking.

This is a must go for friends visiting from out of town, they all seem to like all the shops and all the little souvenirs. several restaurants here from Pizza to Bubba Gump's, and ice cream of course, this is right on the water so nice views of the gulf and intercoastal waterway. This is a big tourist attraction.

Came to walk around and eat several times. Lots of little shops and a few local eateries. Best parking is on north side of area and pretty cheap also. Good people watching too. Like being at the state fair!

Beware this area has Kios parking. Since most of the Fl villages do not charge for parking we did not look for the parking Kios and there was not well marked signage indicating that there was a parking charge. We walked the streets for over a hour and never noticed a parking charge sign. When we returned to our car... More

John's Pass is really touristy, but there are great restaurants on the water, great food options, lots of stores to browse around, and they have dolphin boating and wave runner rentals. Fun for a few hours...

Loved our time here. While Dining on the pier we were able to see dolphins. Nice shops with very friendly service in all of them. Only the parking was a disappointment.
