Disappointment turned to glee, thanks to Captain James, and a unnamed shark. We originally had scheduled a offshore giant grouper/shark expedition but a small craft advisory led to a cancellation. I contacted Bent Charters and we agreed to try some nearshore fishing, and they were very forthright that all we may land is some mackerel so we had the option to cancel. Wanting to take my family fishing we stuck we headed out anyway for a 4-hour tour. Got Mackerel real quick (CPT James later filleted some for dinner for us) and I asked if we could try for a shark along the shore. Used our fresh Mackerel for bait, and BAM!, something big hit it. After 40 minutes of myself and two grown sons battling we hauled in a 120lb, 5 foot black tip shark. Quite the exhausting battle but worth every second. Thanks to Bent Charters and Shark (released and very upset I imagine) for a great family memory!

We traveled all the way from Colorado and chose this charter by reviews and it was worth every penny and experience!!! Capt James took us right to the fish. Within minutes of reaching our destination it was on like donkey kong lol. I caught my 35lb barracuda then we caught a total of 4 goliath groupers ranging from 150 to 400lbs!!!! A total of 3 big barracudas! We had the experience of a lifetime!!!! We 100% would recommend this trip!

Called Lance at Bent Charters and told him we wanted an offshore trip and we were looking to fill a cooler. We went out 20 miles with Captain James fished 4 spots and ended up with a lot of snapper, grouper and a Spanish mackerel. Non stop action we probably released as many as we kept or more. James gets you on the boat gets you on the fish and is very personable. If my family and I are ever in the area again we will be back on the water with James.

On the day of our charter June 28 2021 we received a call less that an hour before departing saying our trip is cancelled. Very disappointed!!! We were less than 5 minutes from the marina so we decided to make a trip over there. We get there and surprised none of Bent Charters boats were there. We believe he overbooked in hopes someone would cancel. Will never call there again. Poor service! We found charter 2 days later and caught so many good eaters. The captain that took us out was amazing. Think twice before going with bent charters. Don’t want what happened to us happen to you. This is my 2nd review since my first one never got posted.

Your trip was cancelled at 6:11 am due to weather. We don't take people out in bad weather nor can we control the weather. Our boats all have vessel monitoring systems and NONE of boats left from June 25-July 3 due to weather. I also went out of my way to try and find you another trip with my friends charter and I believe you went with him, since we were booked. He decided to take you fishing and told me the weather was horrible. I have tried to reach out to you and you won't respond. Your review is a defamation of our business. You didnt get to experience our charter due to weather. I still have all of our texts trying to help yall find another charter later in your trip. We have phenomenal reviews for a reason and your bad review is potentially damaging to a business you didn't get to experience.

Had a wonderful time fishing with Bent charter! I had my kids ages 16, 7 and 4 y.o. Since i didnt know how long the kiddos would last we did a half day, caught about 15 fish (idk what kind even though they told me lol) I wasnt looking for huge fish, so my kids could catch and reel themselves, just wanted lots of fish, and the Captain delivered! The kids had a blast and Captain showed us lots of dolphins on the way back to the marina. It was exactly what i asked for and perfect for their age ranges. Highly recommend Bent Charters.

On a hard day for fishing we limited out on red grouper. Captain James was very professional and diligent. His actions payed off. Our original trip at another charter service was canceled due to engine issues the night before we were going out. Captain James saved the day!!!

Let me just tell you, this charter is by far the best charter we have been on. Capt James was so nice and considerate, he even put us on fish right away. My husband and I have never been on a charter this great. Can’t wait to fry up our fish!

I was referred to Bent Charters after my original charter was cancelled. I spoke with Captain Lance who let me know Captain James would be taking out out. Due to weather, we postponed two different days. They wanted to get me the best experience vs. taking my money. My 13 year old wanted to catch a big fish so we started with trolling on a wreck to catch two nice barracudas and used them for bait to catch two sharks and three Goliath grouper. The largest was 400 + lbs. After that, we moved to another location and quickly caught 15-20 grey snapper to take home and eat. My 13 y/o son is elated and I am Dad of the Year thanks to Captain James and Bent Charters. We will be using them again. All of this fun in a 6 hour trip

James got us on the fish immediately! We caught nonstop for about an hour. My kids were taken care of well and really enjoyed themselves. Then we started trolling for barracuda. We were on in just minutes, then my daughter (on her birthday) landed a nice one. We had several others on but lost them. All of this on a 4 hour trip. My only regret was not booking a longer time. I just wasn't sure how long my kids would hang in there. They absolutely loved it. Thanks James.

Any chance you skin the fish afterwords to send home with us? Love fishing, but have never skinned our own, not experienced there!
