My mom and I have long enjoyed those painting workshops, etc....so when I saw a Groupon to do a pottery class I thought that might be fun too!
It was fun, but it was VERY crowded. My mom and I got there early. So early in fact that we were asked to "step out" so the owner could lock the door! We came back at 4:02 (class started at 4p) and found that there were NO SEATS....so we were seated with our backs facing the instructor. How overly crappy is that!
Then the owner/instructor demonstrates the entire process. In our case we made mugs. So it is very hard as a first time guest to remember and then execute all those steps. She was very good about coming around and helping if you needed it though!
She doesnt tell you until the end (too late) that she has molds you can use to put little shapes or animals on your mug. So by the time that nugget of info was shared my mom and I (as well as 95% of the class) had already used all our clay! Too bad for us I guess.
She didnt have enough supplies for everyone she booked. I personally was missing a ruler and a cutting tool. I shared with mom!
Also note that the $50 is to make the pottery. You get to come back and pay more if you want it actually PAINT it! LOL
Overall it was fun and mom and I had a "good" time. We probably would NOT go back at $50 a pop! We will however have to return to pay and paint our piece!

My friends and I were looking for something fun and interesting to do. So we decided to try a painting class. Coffee and Canvas was a great time. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The place was peaceful and calm. I highly recommend checking them out. We all ended up with amazing pieces of art and none of us have ever painted before.
