As of this writing (8/27/18) Veterans Memorial Park is closed. Hurricane "IRMA" hit the park hard and although it can be accessed it is closed to the public. Don't know the legal ramifications if you enter the area but it really is not suitable for...More

We decided to visit the park to try to avoid some of the sea weed that plagued Sombero Beach in Marathon. On the bay side, there is less. This beach seemed to have somewhat less, but only one of the two beaches was open. We...More

One turn off the road and you've arrived at this lovely little hide-away. There are four or five thatched-roof beach houses and great views of the sea and it's free!
