If you are looking for one of the top guides for fly fishing in the lower keys, stop looking and start booking . We called the top fly fishing shop in Key West for a recommendation for permit fishing in Big Pine Key and they said Zack was the one to book. They were right on. We fished for 6 days with him and landed 3 permit on a fly! He put us on so many shots daily at the most elusive fish to catch on a fly, it seemed that he made it easy. I would say that we averaged at least 30 to 40 really good shots every day while out with Zack. The only reason we did not catch more was our ability to either mess up the cast or the strip/presentation. Yet Zack was very kind at our abilities to miss permit that he had put us on. His patience is only surpassed by his vast knowledge and experience in knowing where these fish call home. This can only be learned by his 11 years of guiding as much as 300 days a year. In my over 30 years of saltwater fly fishing, this was the best trip ever. Thanks Zack.

We had an amazing time with Captain Zach Stells. So much so that we ended up booking the following day for more lobster fishing. We caught our limit but also saw over 100 lobsters and other sea life. I would definitely recommend this charter to anybody.

Had a fantastic family trip fishing out of Big Pine with Zach! True professional in every sense of the word - trip went exactly as planned...put us on snapper, mangrove, yellow jack and Spanish +...and this is a huge +, GOLIATH GROUPER! My kids were amazed that fish grew that big - making memories! Tickled a few lobster to wrap up the day. It just doesn’t get better!

I fish. I've been on a lot of charters. None compare with the experience we had with JT and Debi. Great people, amazing hosts. The kind of people we would love to spend time with on or off the water. Oh, and the fishing.... Nothing like starting out the day by landing a Sailfish. JT and Debi (Eagle eye) then tracked down and put us on schools of Mahi. What a blast. No need for us to spend time researching what charter for the next Keys trip, it will be with Boneafide. Can't wait.

First let me say, this was NOT just a fishing trip. This was an adventure!! We stayed busy reeling fish in the day past way to fast. Cpt JT definitely knows where the "honey holes" are. Thank you both so much for showing us such an amazing unforgettable time but most of all, we are beyond thrilled that we met and made life long friends with y'all! We are looking forward to seeing the two of you again soon... Annual or Semi-annual Adventure Trip!!!

JT is a fantastic captain who always puts clients in a position to catch fish. I've caught many fish with him, including bone fish and a 30 pound permit off the flats (which I'm told is rate). He is a great capt and also a great guy! I highly recommend him if you're looking for a great back country fishing experience

Took my 7 year old boy on a lobster trip. Weather was windy and rainy and seas were rough. Capt JT knew where to take us where we were able to escape the rough seas. We had a great day and still got our limits. Thanks

This was more than a fishing trip. This became a major life improvement made possible by two of the finest people anywhere. Debi is the most amazing hostess and JT is a veritable master of his trade. He is without a doubt the best guide I've ever met. A human fish finder. The boat was still moving forward slightly from making our first stop of the morning. Thirty seconds later I had my 100 pound tarpon eating the fly. That's the way you start a trip! The last day ended with six tarpon caught one after another. I'll never be the same and I'll never fish the keys with anyone else.

We want to suggest Capt. JT's boat charter to everyone, because his knowledge of the Keys including the back country, the fish and islands as well as his hospitality while on his boat was TOP Shelf and truly a blessing! My husband and I were there for vacation for 10 days with another couple and the nature tour the four of us took with him was something so fun and beautiful we could have never anticipated how special seeing the back country remote islands would be!
We got to view and take pictures of hundreds of birds, ...spectacular and unusual landscapes and many species of fish that we would have never know were in the Keys, had it not been for the several hours he took to take us to remote islands and explaining the area and habitat to us.
He really became a new friend as he didn't seem to be there to just make some money and drop us off at the end! He took his time with us and truly enjoyed showing us the area and making sure we were getting the most out of the adventure, and also took us to a coral reef for some great snorkeling! We will definitely make a Bonefide Charter part of our plans when we come back to the keys! Next time we want to try fishing with him. He definitely knows where to go to catch the most fish and also try the gourmet picnic lunch made by his wife to enjoy on one of the islands.
He and his wife were so hospitable, and they even gave us some "off the beaten path" restaurants to try that were a great experience! Don't miss this opportunity for a fantastic, personal and custom adventure you will never forget!!

I came into the keys and got situated nicely, the person emailing me from bone fish charters was so very sweet and charming they offered a day and time for a tour and It was convenient for us. I informed them I promised my son Pepsi on our boat ride just asking if I can bring it along.I went out with my two boys 5 and 6 years old and my 18 year old sister. We arrive and they have a cooler full of Pepsi and snacks for the boys. It was so very kind and thoughtful. It was honestly such a perfect scenario. We saw so many animals in their natural habitats, he directed us to see the coral reefs and some of his lobster holes. Saw bald eagles, shark, sting rays, so many sea creatures. My family and I were so amazed on how this couple is so hospitable and personable and the things we got to see were incredible. To top the trip off... As we were leaving there were three deer in their lawn... My kids have never seen a deer up that close! Ha what an amazing adventure I will return to the keys this summer and I will take another bonefish tour :) well worth every penny spent! Thank you JT and ur gorgeous wife!
