This is a very nice park. The spring water is crystal clear. We went to see the manatees and were glad to see them as well as the fish. $6 per car is a bargain as there are toilet facilities, snack shacks and a gift shop. The place gets crowded and we hear they turn away cars if the park fills up. We bought tickets to the eco boat tour (which allows you into the park even when it’s closed). The tour was fantastic once we got going. Upon boarding we were told that the bench seats were designed for four people - maybe four small children. They hold three average sized adults. Our guide was knowledgeable and took the time to slow down and stop so we could see the birds and alligators. I highly recommend the park and the boat tour.

A really really beautiful natural spring with caves underneath. Such a fantastic visit which we didn't even know existed until we happened to pick up a leaflet at a local diner. The water is so clear and serene, it's like out of a watercolour painting.
$5 entry fee in to the state park. Stay as long as you like to either walk the trails, have a picnic or just swim. I had hoped to see manitees but no joy. There are shower and toilet facilities, picnic tables, bbq grills and carparks. Some areas are dangerous so would be wise to keep pets and young kids supervised.

My daughter and I were determined to see Manatees while in FL last fall and came upon this place. Our recommendation would be to rent a kayak or canoe. The manatees swam right under us numerous times. It was awesome!

This state park was fantastic. Our house from age 11 to 18 had a great time swimming in the spring and down the river, exploring the dive hole. The water is the most beauty lie and cold but we got in and warmed up after playing. There are picnic areas, water, and restrooms. We got there before 10am on a week day and there was not a crowd. It was perfect the whole day, including the rain showers. We did this for a quick day trip and we look forward to going again soon.

We stopped by Madison Blue Springs State Park for a short walk. The springs are beautiful with one primary spring flowing into the Withlacoochee River. We walked around the main spring and walked down to one of the smaller springs. There were boards showing how extensive the underwater cave system was in the area. It was shocking that people actually swim into those places! It’s a nice stop particularly when passing through the area along I-10 or I-75.

Definitely worth a trip! We went on a weekday morning in August right as the park opened and had the whole spring to ourselves for a couple of hours. Definitely bring tubes to float because the spring is deep and wearing water shoes makes the day much easier. The water is so blue... and so cold, but you get used to it very quickly! If you are a nature lover, it doesn’t get much better than this!

This is hands-down the most beautiful place I have ever seen in my entire life! Stunning! If you live anywhere within 1000 miles of this place, you need to go! Absolutely amazing! It is the kind of place that you see on the Internet, in magazines or on TV and you wonder if it really looks that breathtaking in person. I am here to tell you it does!! We cannot wait to go back again!!! The staff were so friendly, helpful and courteous. I swear I would live there if I could! ❤️❤️❤️

A friend and I decided very last minute to make the drive from Mobile, AL to Maddison and it was 100% worth it. Great for all ages, we brought kids between the ages of 8 to 16 and everyone thought it was a great trip.
This place was so cool! It was beautiful and a great family bonding trip.
Tips if you plan on coming here
*BRING WATER SHOES! I promise you will regret it if you don't. The rocks are unforgiving but totally doable with a pair of water shoes.
*Bring goggles (and snorkel if you have it). There's amazing things to see under the water.
*Pack lunch. There's nothing close by and you wouldn't wanna leave anyway.
*Bathrooms are clean, I mean as far as state park bathrooms go.
*Bring a camera & take ALL THE PICTURES!
*** WARNING! The water is ice cold (72 degrees to be exact) in the pretty blue part but just to the left the spring feeds out to a river which is SUPER warm... seriously like bath water.***
*The state park charges $5 per car. Make sure you have cash they DO NOT take cards.

My little family and I are still new to Fl, so when we found out that Florida had a lot of natural springs, we were ready to start exploring. The one at Madison Blue Springs State Park was our first one to visit. We pulled in paid The reasonable fee of $5 to get in. As soon as we got of the car we saw a little boy peeing off of a picnic table. Which to us wasn't too crazy. We have two boys (4 years old and 10 months old) so we get that sometimes they are wild when Mom and Dad are not paying attention. We got down to the natural spring and the first thing we noticed before we even got to the spring was how bad the mosquitoes were. The Spring its self was absolutely beautiful. The people swimming in it were interesting to say the least. I should mention that my husband and I are interracial couple, (I'm mixed black/.white, he's white). This little girl (white) probably about 12 years old kept dropping the "N" world every 5 minutes. Then my husband noticed that her father had a Nazis symbol tattooed to his chest. We decided to leave because we didn't want our boys around that trash. Had our boys not been with us I would've jumped my black butt in that water and told that little girl to shut her mouth. We're from MS, where literally part of the state flag is a huge symbol of racism and we've never felt that uncomfortable. I thought Florida was better. This park is absolutely beautiful but it was ruined by trash. We will not be returning.

My family recently did 3 days of springs and tubing in North Florida. Madison Blue Springs was the last on the agenda and it did not disappoint. There is not a beach to set up your stuff on, so claim a picnic table. Once you brave the super-cold, crystal clear blue springs, you can float out into the river. You can float down the river and around the bend until you reach a small beach. From the beach there is a short path through the woods, past the pavilions, back to the parking area, where you can have a snack and then do it all over again. Pack bug spray. Wear water shoes.

My situation is this; I really want to get away to a place where I can snorkel/free dive in at least 10' to 20' of scenic water, like I've been seeing on these beautiful Florida Springs Sites! I'm a licensed NITROX PADI diver but don't want to do tank diving anymore. I did a lot of diving in Deerfield beach and south coastal areas here but the fresh water springs is what I really want. Also, if there are hotels or motels close by to stay in that would be great, since I don't do camping. I'd love to hear from you if you can advise a trip for one person for
several days. Thank You, Mark

How far is the walk to the water?

We started a spring photo showing on Facebook with over 500 views and shares. The State took notice and declared it the most popular spring in Northern Florida. Funding has been appropriated to move the structures to a non-flood zone away from the parking.
Are there any age requirements? My husband and I have a 3 year old who we'd like to bring swimming here.

No age requirements, there are shallow, sandy beach like areas, also. There is no lifeguard.
Is Madison Blue pet friendly?

I've never seen any animals there, but I'm not sure.
What is the best place to stay there? Do they have cabins in the park?
