We each paid a $5.00 requested donation, but the visit there was worth twice that much. The Christmas lights display throughout the gardens was amazing. I think someone said they have a million LED lights. I believe it. There were also musicians and places to...More

Walked through the gardens on a beautiful December day. Even though the Christmas decorations weren't lit, there was a Christmas spirit present! Saw an alligator and a great variety of beautiful flowers!!

I was there last Saturday evening. It was busy. There were incredible light displays throughout the gardens. Everything was wonderful. Even the concession was poised and ready. Lines for that - yes - but they were on top of it. Nothing took too long at...More

FREE garden with nice paths, many ornamental plants and flowers and a nice cactus garden. A small waterway and benches to sit and read, or just relax. Dog friendly

For just a 5.00 donation, the whole place is lit up with beautiful Christmas lights. There are musicians scattered throughout the gardens. There was also a children’s program the night we went. Fun for kids, nice for date night and families

We usually visit twice while we winter nearby, once during the day and once to see the Christmas lights. During the day we wander over the 100 (?) acres to see the beautiful and varied gardens such as the herb, azalea, cactus, tropical fruit, etc.,...More

We were here for the Christmas light displays. They were gorgeous, well thought out a pleasure to see. There was even entertainment. I thoroughly recommend the gardens both at Christmas and during the year as well.

Lots of well-labeled plants and trees to satisfy your curiousity and give you some great ideas for your own garden. The well-marked paths make for an enjoyable stroll where you can take offshoot paths and/or circle back around. At this time of year they have...More

Hidden gem in Largo, FL. Many varied and native plants in Old Florida settings; adjacent to Heritage Village (both free). Special decorations for Christmas season (small donation accepted). Flat- handicapped-accessable. Excellent parking.

A group of 37 ladies spent a great evening seeing the lights. We were just delighted to walk through the lights. Lots of oohs and ahs. Where else can you go to enjoy the season for a small donation.

Florida Botanical Gardens or Sunken Gardens? (3 Replies)
If we can tear ourselves away from the water and decide to go inland, which would be your first choice: Florida Botanical Gardens or the Sunken Gardens. Thanks,

I've not yet been to sunken, but wasn't that impressed with botanical. It might have been off season so not much blooming. It is free however, and nice strolling over to heritage village which is right beside it. Going to Sunken in few weeks, can post a compare then
