My husband and I visited in December, during our very first Christmas in a warm place. We saw an advertisement for the Christmas Lights Display at the Botanical Gardens, and thought how much fun it would be to roam around in our shorts while checking out the lights :) We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the gardens...which are themselves just... Visited twice in December...what a wonderful place. While it is a very nice botanical garden, the christmas lights were spectacular. Very accessible and great family outing.

This is a beautiful garden filled with many local flowering plants. The walkways wind through gardens and wooded areas. In addition to fabulous flora there is also fascinating fauna. Keep your eyes peeled for hawks, osprey, and herons along with some good-sized alligators.

We have been regular visitors to the gardens over the past 10 years. It is constantly enlarging and improving the superb displays of shrubs, flowers and herbs. The are plenty of shaded areas and seats so you can take your time to visit the entire site. For a full day experience, the Heritage Village is next door.

We went On a Monday holiday and the foliage was beautiful. Sorry we missed the Christmas lights. There were some funky algae filled ponds that did not look like much could inhabit them but the trees and bushes were very attractive. It's free and a great place for a picnic.we are new to Florida and we're looking for landscaping ideas... More

Do visit the Extension Building. It is normally open 9-5, M-F. You will find a lot of good information there. You can also visit the Gift shop which sits inside that building. More

My teenage daughter and I had some extra time on our hands before our flight back home to WI. We decided to check out these gardens, as we love visiting botanic gardens whenever we get a chance. Loved that the garden is free, ample parking, clean and tidy, and good signage to direct you to the varying areas of the... More

Thank you so much for your kind review. We do, in fact, have a rose garden. That is one of the areas that has been receiving special tender loving care by our dedicated volunteers so that it can recover from some challenges...and roses do like it a bit warmer. Do come back again! More

Nice place for a morning or afternoon stroll. Free! Small gift shop. Well maintained paths connecting the different areas with signage on most of the flora. The nature trail left a lot to be desired though - very few signs telling what things were, but saw several people jogging. Can easily get to Heritage Village across the parking lot, but... More

Thanks so much for coming by. We agree that we can do better on the nature trail. We plan to increase our natural area to include a boardwalk that will include information on our native flora and fauna. For folks who would like to extend their visit to include more of natural Florida, Walsingham Park, across from the Gardens/Heritage Village,... More

My husband and I stumbled upon this place by accident and we're glad we did. Very peaceful to walk around. If you enjoy exploring plants, trees & flowers then you'll enjoy this. Relaxing to just sit in different beautiful places throughout the grounds.
