You cannot go wrong while in Lakeland if you take a stroll through the gardens. Spectacular flowers, trees, and sculptures. The background music simply adds to the beauty of the gardens. Afterwards take a leisurely walk around the lake to photograph the turtles, birds and other wildlife.

This is a truly beautiful garden with a lot of different, vibrant flowers and plant life to look at if you come during the right season. There are walking paths all over to view things, and there’s some nice gazebos as well. In the back corner there are some bamboo trees where people have carved their names or initials into the bark which I thought was neat, really gave the garden a more personal touch. There’s a small koi pond as well with some of the biggest koi fish I have ever seen, and some benches/ sitting areas for you to just sit in the quietude and enjoy the beauty. Hollis Garden also has a direct entrance to Lake Mirror walkways and downtown Lakeland, which is one of my favorite areas in town so it’s a great and convenient location. The only thing I don’t like as much is there are a lot of events, such as weddings or photo shoots, that take place in the garden and they get priority so if you are just a regular visitor you have to keep out of the way of the events which can be a pain.

Set in downtown Lakeland, it is an oasis amongst the high rise buildings. It is a lovely garden with a beautiful lake setting. There are many places to sit and relax with beautiful flowers all around. After a stroll through, we walked around Lake Mirror and enjoyed the birds and surrounding architecture. A wonderful place to explore.

Beautiful gardens along Lake Mirror. Peaceful and tranquil gardens with a beautiful lake to take a stroll around. The Joinery restaurant sits along Lake Mirror as well where you can stop and get a bite to eat and a cold drink.

On a recent drive from Orlando to Tampa we were looking for a place in the middle to stop. Lakeland was about half way between the cities. There isn't a whole lot in Lakeland, but we found the Hollis Garden to be a nice place to relax and stretch our legs. The garden is on the south side of Lake Mirror in Lakeland. There is a nice pathway around the lake that is about 3/4 of a mile and perfect for a short walk.
The garden itself is small, but it is filled with a nice variety of well maintained plants. The garden is pretty and nice to spend some time in.
Unfortunately, the garden doesn't open until 10 a.m., and we arrived slightly before this. So we were only able to enjoy the garden from outside.

When we first arrived at this garden, we were initially crestfallen because it was much smaller than we expected. But once we got over our initial disappointment, we ended up loving it. Go into it with a realistic expectation and you will love it.
It is a very small garden but broken up into multiple small rooms with many types of flowering plants and lovely sculptures. There is a lot to be seen if you walk around each room. Don't miss the butterfly garden hidden at the side. They have done some beautiful work with edible plants as well.
It's a great place for photo opps. I suspect they do a lot of weddings at this site. Also take time to walk along the waterfront...we saw a pair of tricoloured herons, which was a first for us.

We traveled 1 hour just to visit this beautiful garden and it was worth it. The place is perfect for photoshoot, picnic with families (kids will definitely have fun with this park), and just walk around the garden enjoy the beautiful architecture and lovely flowers. Also, enjoyed our walk around the lake and see fishes, turtles and birds. I took more videos to capture everything inside the park and shared on my tiktok and YouTube account but sadly I can't upload the videos here, so here's some photos.

This is probably a great place for people in the surrounding buildings to enjoy a relaxing time at lunch or after work. But I am not an admirer of the "room" concept and of squares of manicured green lawn surrounded by trimmed boxwood. Add to that the cold Grecian columns, and I distinctly felt a certain funereal aura rather than an uplifting of spirit that a beautiful garden usually inspires. In addition, the weird modern sculpture left me cold. Sorry, if I lived nearby maybe I would have a reason to visit as an escape from the city. Otherwise, I cannot recommend stopping here.

Hollis Garden is absolutely gorgeous. Well-maintained and visually stunning. I don’t know the technical terms for everything there, but I loved the seating areas. Great place to curl up and read. The music added a nice touch. I saw a lot of people taking photos. Can walk out to the promenade from there. I highly recommend.

There are several close lots. Orange Street by the Magnolia Building is contiguous to the gardens.
