This lake was very nice. You can stroll all around it and see the wildlife, the art piece, and the gardens next door. It was sad to see how the litter was thrown inside the lake as some places. I would suggest placing more garbage cans on the grounds. It was a nice place to relax.

Lake Mirror is an absolute charm! Such a stunning area, there are nice wide pathways all around the lake, and even steps right down to the water so you can sit and enjoy the view. Tons of ducks and other birds to look at, as well as lots of pretty flowers and art at intervals all over. Plus, the lake is nestled right next to downtown Lakeland so you can literally walk over to the dozens of restaurants and fun places that are all right in the neighborhood. I absolutely love this area and it’s a lovely place to walk/run/have family time! The photos really speak for themselves!

We live in St. Pete and have been abiding by the stay at home orders but one can only endure so much before going stir crazy. To keep our sanity, we have taken a drive every couple of days to areas where we could get out in the open yet maintain social distancing. Yesterday, we decided to drive to Lakeland as I remembered this lake in the downtown area from many years ago. Back then it was just a lake (pretty much neglected) with nothing around it.
Well it has certainly changed since then. It's a beautiful area with the lake, ducks, paved walkways all around it, benches, manicured grass areas, several dining options and the beautiful Hollis Gardens.
It's a great way to spend a few hours in the outdoors. Plus, parking around the lake is free!

Had an enjoyable ,peaceful couple of hours walking around Lake Mirror and the attached small gardens.
What a pretty ,quiet enjoyable way to spend a morning in the sunshine.
Stopped at the small cafe just off the side and had the most hospitable server and the best peach pie .

Some news channels out of Tampa will use photos of this beautiful late in downtown Lakeland. The Frances Langford Promenade is a National Historic Place. Full of some much local lore there are ghost tours. Great for weddings....walking your dog. You can also swing by Hollis Gardens...if you walk the lake you will pass it's entry (free). Also in walking distance is Texas Cattleman's, the best steak house in town and the Poor Porker.

Went on a late night trip and stopped at this park. Very beautiful scenery especially at night when everything is lit up.

Good spot to walk along the water and it’s close to town. Swans are there and it’s a spot for lots of nice family outdoor activities.

Lake Mirror itself is quite pretty with its fountain, plentiful lily pads, water fowl, and turtles, but what makes this lake stand out is the wide promenade that encircles it. The historic architectural features, such as an ornate loggia, add a touch of beauty and glamour that is very enchanting. It's the perfect spot to walk hand in hand, yet, at the same time, a great area for a family outing. Found along the promenade are sculptures, the picturesque Hollis Garden, the Barnett Family Park, and more. Parking is available near the playground or in a lot by the Texas Cattle Company restaurant, and public restrooms are available.

No charge. Just park in the public spots and walk around. Fun to see all the different water birds and the Texas Cattle Co is great for dinner, then a walk around the lake! Enjoy!

Hi Ashley,
You can find a daily updated list of events in and near downtown Lakeland on the city of lakeland's website (TripAdvisor does not allow links to be shared).
Lakeland's annual Red, White, and Kaboom firework show is at Lake Mirror on July 3rd every year. This weekend downtown will host First Fridays. Check the website for all details and more events!
Are leashed pets allowed?

To my knowledge pets are allowed. You would definitely want to keep them on a leash as one end of the park has a lot of birds.

Agree with Karen. As noted earlier, most downtown municipal on street parking is free for 2 hours Mon-Sat. After that you must pay using an app. Moving car will not restart you 2 hour free period.
