Abandoned building

This building has been abandoned for decades. The past few years a small group of people have been trying to restore it. Not much visible progress yet

This building is condemned! Has a big fence around it and boarded up. The only thing I have heard is occasionally there is "Ghost Tour", but haven't seen it advertised in a long time. I live in this area and drive by it every day.

This hotel that was built in 1927 and served people from aroumd the country and world back in the day did very well. Too bad today, the people of Lake Wales have no taste or class to help this building move along. Maybe you poor people may want to save a Chinese WalMart in your area,

This hotel has been in the middle of renovations for at least 10 years. The only progress I have seen is the outside has finally been painted. Progress is SLOWWWWWW. Once the project is complete I believe it will be worth while, cannot understand why the City of Lake Wales has not held the owner to the agreement.

This is an eyesore right in the heart of down town Lake Wales, it was once a premier hotel, but has long since been left to rot away. The area around it has been cordoned off and the fire stairs taken away so no one can enter. The hotel was built in 1927 and originally called the Dixie Walesbilt Hotel... More

Owners have been trying for many years to restore this 1920's era hotel. It is no where near ready to be occupied or used. Considered an eye sore by many residents.

Judging by how long it has sat there untouched and vacant, I'd say it is probably more costly to repair the hotel than to destroy and rebuild. rumor has it the place was elegant in its day, but its day is very long gone.

The Grand Hotel is long past it's prime. The building is currently closed and has been under some type of renovation for several years.

This old building is the reason Lake Wales cannot come into the 21st Century. It is time to TEAR IT DOWN. For over 13 years the City it has traded hands over and over and is still a blight to the town. Some buildings are worth saving...this one is not!

After reading the other reviews I wanted to add that we drove by the Grand Hotel on our recent visit to Lake Wales. While it was very sad to see how run down it had become, as we drove around it we saw that they actually seem to be restoring it. 1/4 of the building is painted and it looks... More
