great place to walk

Walked for half a day and saw a lot of bird life and heard lots of rustling in the undergrowth! Saw deer and hog tracks but never actually saw them at KICCO,

Well marked trail that is also the Florida trail. Good for walking or horses. Plenty of campgrounds around. Good scenery. Enjoyable place for a long walk, day trip, or overnighter.

Many animales running wild. A pretty area with great photo opps. The singing cowboy kept us interested with his many stories and songs.

On an early August morning, seven hikers set out from River Ranch near Lake Wales for a four-and-a-half mile hike in the woods at KICCO Wildlife Management Area. The level and easy trail, actually an unpaved but graded road leads you through typical Florida flora - past live oak, conifers and palmetos, among others. The trail then takes hikers to open grassland with grazing cattle, across canals and finaly to the Kissimmee riv. You'll see myriad birds, and if you're lucky, also gators - we did, coming across...
