It's a nice park. Make sure you bring water as it quite hot and no water fountain. The kids had fun running around and throwing pinecones. There's a nice view of the lake from the shore.

I don't understand this tiny Park. On one side of the Lake are houses, and on the Park side is a swampy lakeshore. There is nothing there to see. No critters, no birds, no wildlife, no scenic view. There is a short (maybe 10 minute) walking loop, but there is nothing to see while walking. It's also quite a ride from Rte 27, so I would suggest save your gas money, get a cold one at that restaurant/bar on the right side of the road on your way in, and just pretend you went to the Park.

We wanted to either bike or walk through this park. We followed the signs to Daffodil Road and drove back and forth without ever finding a parking lot. We knew we were along the park by the fence and having looked on Google Maps. We then parked along one of the dirt roads and took our bike for a ride on the roads without ever finding a way "into" the actual park. The area is nice, but not worth going out of the way to visit.

As visitors before me have said, this park is off the beaten path. We enjoyed the trails through the scrub, vie ing eagles, osprey and turkey vulchers. The compost restroom and picnic table are adequate. It's a nice place to hike. Just go prepared with drinking water, sunscreen, and cell phone.

Don't expect much here except for a perfect view of Florida scrub and the deep silence of the woods. Hike into the Tomoka Trail to listen to the melodious waters of a black water creek. There is a shell parking lot, composting toilet and a picnic table but that's about it folks. Bring your own water, snacks and sturdy, closed toed shoes. Don't forget your binoculars! FABULOUS birding and hiking across sugar sand paths and trails. Bring a cell phone and let someone know your hiking plans or bring a friend due to remote access at this site. Deer, hogs, Gopher tortoises, Five-lined race runners and Florida Scrub lizards for the sharp-eyed observer. Bald eagles, Pileated woodpeckers, Florida Scrub jays and warblers galore. Sunglasses, sun block and plenty of drinking water is a necessity.

Stopped off while on a trip to Lake Placid. I like exploring natural areas, and saw a sign for this small state park while driving through the lake area. The park has a small shelter and a restroom. There is a quarter mile nature trail that takes you through the scrub. It's a little overgrown so obviously doesn't get much use. But it was an easy walk through the hammock area. You can alos walk down to the lakeshore, where there is a covered bench where you can sit and look out over the lake. There were birds and butterflies to see, but didn't notice any animals during the middle of the day. One caution: there is a warning of bear in the area posted at the park entrance. There is a small admission fee on the honor system.

Thisi is a wild area. This is a sand scrub habitat, with all the accompanying wildlife and flora. I love this area to sit alone ad think. There is a small parking lot, a hiking trail. If you hike, pack alot of water!!! It is hot, and the path is straight, not circular. If you walk to the end, it is a long long walk back to the car! There is also a quick path to Lake Juno.

Off the beaten path, have a picnic down by the water, Lake June is awesome. Hike the trails, lots of eagles to watch as well as water birds and ospreys. Great place to go and relax and listen to nature and maybe the roar of a ski boat passing by.

Florida's landscape and wildlife diversity is on full display at this lakeside scrub land park. We enjoyed the beautiful lake view but, would encourage everyone to apply insect repellent before venturing close to the water. There are a few open and covered picnic tables, an outhouse and a 1/2 mile hiking trail, otherwise amenities are limited. As weekend explorers, living on the west coast of Florida, we also enjoyed driving our detailed map plotted circular route through central Florida's vast forests, swamps, savannas, grazing fields, farmland, and orchards.
