Southern Oaks Golf Course is a must play for all. It is just off I-75 in Lake City Florida. The greens are as good as any in North and Central Florida. The front nine has 4 holes that run along a beautiful lake, and there is always deer, alligators, hawks, and exotic birds to be seen there. There are somewhat rolling hills and some elevated greens. Green fees are just $29.00 for state and law enforcement personal. Otherwise it is just $40.00. It is well worth the price. Golf lessons are offered, and the driving range and putting green are exceptional.

A great little 9 hole timekiller on our trip through.We hit it just right at about 2 o'clock and virtually had the entire course to ourselves.The staff was pleasant enough.The course was challenging but not overwhelming and in very good shape.The price was right too.

This course is challenging and beautiful in my opinion. It is well maintained and is a fun course. The restaurant has good food with good service.

Stopped on the way back from Augusta & play just the front nine. Fairways and greens were pretty good & the course has a very interesting layout. Water, beautiful, old oak trees, elevation and dog legs. I would play it again, anytime.

This is a good course to play, the greens are in good condition. My husband and son play on occasions.Has a beautiful lake. People are very friendly.

It is now "The Country Club at Lake City" under new ownership for the past 4 years. The course is in excellent condition and the greens are the best in north Florida. A must stop by and play!
