The Legends golf Course is in great shape
Apr 2021
The Legends course was in great shape in April 2021z. Rates were reduced end of April. Service was friendly. Plenty of tee times open.

Disappointing return visit
Feb 2020
We like the layout and the condition of the course was ok, finding out that the clubhouse is now closed so no breakfast and only bbq and no draught beer after our round was disappointing. The burgers were freshly cooked and good but good luck if bbq isn’t your thing.

Slow going
Jan 2020 • Solo
Played the reserve course on a Friday afternoon. Out on my own despite 2 balls behind me that I should have been paired with due to the large number of 3/4 balls front.
Managed to get through a couple of them but then it stacked up, at one point 4 groups waiting on the tee but nobody from the course around checking on speed of play. Took 4 hours in the end for a 1 ball!
Course is ok. Typical resort layout. Decent nick so ok for the price

Where else can I go
May 2019
Their main course is too expensive for what it is. The employees are arrogant and indifferent. Some of the holes are too difficult for vacation golfers. There are no ranger to ask poor golfers to allow better golfers behind them to play through. An average round of golf should take 3 and a half to 4 hours at a comfortable pace. I've found myself behind people who took 5 to 5 and a half hours to complete 18 hole. I've even called the pro-shop for help with no response.

Terrible conditions
Nov 2019
The price should have told us all we needed to know. $39 with cart and it wasn't worth it. Layout is pretty nice but the crabgrass on the course, including the greens, made it not worth the price. No cart girl or water on the course and green speeds were abominable.

The Legends course, wrong place wrong time
Jul 2019
Maybe our fault, but played on the 4th July. The course is typical resort course in that it plays around the hotel and grounds. Good condition. The problem was no course marshalling. We complained about the slow play on the 6th tee. Were promised they would speed things up. Waited about 30 mins on the 10th tee for as now there was a queue. Gave up on the 13th tee when we had already been out for over 5 hours. Complained in the pro shop. They weren't particularly interested so will never goo back

Legends at Orange Lake is a Great Golf Course
Jun 2019 • Friends
Played the Arnold Palmer designed Legends course at Orange Lake Resort and what a fabulous layout. Greg, the player assistant, was friendly and very helpful. He made sure we had fresh ice, got us out on #10 before a group of 30 or so went out in a shotgun and checked up to see if we were enjoying our round on the course. Legends has ample practice space with a bunker practice area right of the huge range and a practice putting green before the 1st and 10th tees. The course has a great mix of challenging holes with generous landing areas and Arnold's infamous rock formations around many of the ponds that border the greens. The beverage cart lady made frequent visits to fill up our fuel so we would not runout. Was disappointed that the Legends restaurant was closed, but enjoyed a lunch at Miller's off property. The layout has five sets of tees to make anyone's day at Legends an enjoyable one. Our round took less than four hours. Although it was one of those sweltering summer days, there was ample shade to cool down between shots, particularly when a player hit in the stuff. Great fairways, well raked bunkers and medium speed greens made my foursome very happy. Go Play Legends, you will love it.

Rough, but OK for the price
May 2019 • Family
Found the “clubhouse” in a corner of the Resort”s “Marketplace” store only because I had read about its location online. The starter, Billy, graciously found us 2 old bags, which we used to split up the 3 skeleton sets we’d brought in a travel bag. (He was the only person working the course that we saw; he even cleaned the carts after they had been used.)
The course had been aerated, and numerous spots in the rough were literally tore up by the machine. Neither the scorecard or the tee boxes showed the holes, bends, traps, crossing streams or ponds.
I thought that the course was better maintained and more enjoyable the further into the round we got.
All things considered, I’d play this course again, but would definitely try a few others before I came back.
