About The Paddling Center at Shingle Creek
Shingle Creek is headwaters of the Everglades and was recently rated one of the top paddling trails in Florida. We rent single kayaks, 2-person (tandem) kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddle boards. We also have guided eco-tours available. The natural setting surrounding our rustic-themed Paddling Center facility gives you a true feel of the rustic Florida landscape which includes adjacent hiking and biking trails. Picnic tables are onsite making this a great family or group event location. Our trained staff is friendly and provides new and novice paddlers the basic paddling skills to enjoy the exceptional natural beauty that is Shingle Creek. Special Programs available include Team Building Events and Education Programs for 6th Grade and up. A fun and hands-on way to learn!

our tour was cancelled, so we rented a tandem kayak and paddled around on our own. the scenery was beautiful and we saw a bunch of turtles along the way. It was very peaceful and relaxing - a perfect antidote to the theme parks!

Perfect off the beaten path experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and cared about the health and conservation of the Shingle Creek ecosystem. The creek was a good reminder to slow down and look around at the wonders of nature.

As far as I know you can since the paddling center is at a public park area. Just call them and double check.

We took the "more difficult" route on our own, and just turned around when we were wanted. You run across kayaks returning all along the route. Beautiful trail for kayaking!!

Only noticed 1 other place you could get out going out to the north but didn’t see any picnic areas. If you are only having 2 hours in the boat just have your picnic at the end.
