This is place is only good for folks just looking to get away from the crowds of Orlando. Not really a good place for serious hikers.

I went to the Disney Wilderness Preserve for a school field trip. I had never been before but will be back soon. It is gorgeous. It is true Florida nature. This is an area that used to be pasture land. Disney purchased this land to mitigate the damage they were going to do building Animal Kingdom and Celebration. It was... More

A beautiful place, very quiet and peaceful. Those who love Disney and go to the theme parks every day may never get to see some "real" Florida - this is it and it is great! Highly recommended.

This is not a place to go to see lots of scenery and to enjoy abundant nature and animals. It is set far out and is flat, not very visually stimulating. But if you would like a quiet walk away from people and noise, this place is perfect.

There's really not much to see or do here unless you love nature and the idea of restoring natural habitat back to its original condition. They seem to have done an excellent job here. There are places that sit and relax and trails to walk. A wonderful area to come and be with your thoughts.

We were a little skeptical as we pulled up and immediately saw 2 black racer snakes, but we went on. So glad we did. Very peaceful area after being in the parks and having a sensory overload. We only had time for one trail, but we'll definitely be back again. We'll sit in the rockers and take it all in,... More

The DWP is far, far away from Disney World, thankfully. It is a quiet, well maintained and worthwhile endeavor and stop on any itinerary. For a treat of what Florida used to be like before interstates and theme parks, this is it. Well maintained trails, can always see native wildlife, beautiful office/gift shop and in a safe place. Take the... More

Our satnav couldn't find it! So it took ages to get there, there didn't seem to be any signs to help us either. But once there it was great. We saw a family of cranes on the way in and then had a nice 2 1/2 mile walk, although the paths were quite wet and a bit muddy. Saw a... More

Long drive in where we saw two families of cranes. Good for birdwatchers and walkers but watch for weather as there was a lot of water on the trails when we were there. Make sure you get to Lake Russell ... Idyllic setting.

Rather dull preserve. Only good thing was the lake. Long walk with no wild life in sight. Being over a mile away from the facilities was not good for people of our age.
