You won't find shells here like you do on other beaches in Florida, but its a pleasant place to walk and to spend time enjoying nature. Nice parking available if you are not staying in one of the hotels/homes in the area

This is a small dog friendly beach. The parking lot is small as is the sandy area, though it provides a nice long walk. We enjoyed visiting.

We biked over here from Key Colony Beach and parked our bikes and took a walk. We were not impressed.

Took my sister and her family, the city continues to improve the beach. Restrooms, machine raking the grass, looking good.

This beach gets alot of debris washed up, they do a good job keeping it clean though. I personally would not swim here, have seen many bull sharks.

We stayed at Coco Plum Resort and had our own private beach. It was beautiful to look at! Since we had a pool right on the water, I didn’t need to go in the ocean but my son told me there were rocks at the...More

Unfortunately local dog owners are letting their dogs run wild on this beach, which is expressly not allowed (many signs at the entrance stating this fact, which is state law). Need some enforcement here. Beware of broken glass too. Beach is very small.

We looked at Coco Beach and there was to many people with dogs on that one and it doesn't look anything like the pictures. Sombrero Beach is much better and cleaner My view only

Sea Gulls Condominiums ??? (4 Replies)
Is anyone familiar with this place? Is the area up there too congested? We're deciding between Sea Gulls at mm90 or Coco Plum Beach in Marathon mm 54? Any thoughts? We're an older couple & have stayed on lower matacumbe in the past. We'll be going for the month of February. - Thanks

We are at Seagulls right now, unit 409. The view is excellent, probably 60 ft. to the water and a wide open view. The complex is very well maintained. Nice pool, small exercise room, and a community room with ping pong table, some "left behind" books, and a TV. Balconies on these units are the entire width, so both bedrooms have the water view and balcony access. These units are at the end of a 4-5 block street and VERY quiet, but not far from a good number of restaurants, shopping, and about...More

Oh the ONE home on Coco Plum Drive. . . . How about an address. How about an idea of what you want to know about the area. Restaurants? Shopping? Bars? walking paths? liquor stores? boat rental? fishing charters? SCUBA? kayak? street lights? speed limits?

Best place to stay with boys ages 8 & 6 (6 Replies)
We have never been to the Keys before, but have pretty much decided to stay at Marathon. I am in a toss up whether to stay at Coco Plum Beach resort, Tranquility Bay (not sure the higher price is worth it) or rent a house at Key COlony Beach. The idea of having a beach outside our choice of stay is appealing. However, I'm wondering if we are close enough if we stay in a house at Key Colony. Any suggestions or recommendations??? We are planning ahead for March 2009

Tranquility may be ok for the age group, ok beach, great pool - but not sure if the price is worth it. Key Colony has some fantastic rentals - all come with beach access to Inch Beach, a small private beach in KCB. Restaurants right there in KCB too. Although I have heard of Coco Plum Beach Resort, I'm not exactly sure of which one it is. There are a couple there that are beach front. Coco Plum also has a nice public beach. Recommendations?! Book asap for March!
