For the record, the keys aren't really known for their beaches. If it is beaches you are looking for, might I suggest the Gulf Coast or the Atlantic Coast. This was the closest to a beach that I saw while visiting. The sand was beautiful and the water was clear and warm. They had bathrooms and grills as well. It... More

I have spent lots of time in the Florida Keys. I've seen almost all of the beaches and Sombrero is one of the best. If you are visiting the middle keys, this is the best option.

If you've visited other beaches in Florida the beaches in the keys will leave a lot to be desired. I'd have to say that sombrero beach is one of the few exceptions. It does have expanses of sand to walk/lay out on and easy access to walk into the clean blue water. They also have showers, restrooms, pick-nick pavilions, small... More

My family came out to the Keys. We visited one of the stores there and I asked the owner, "what's a clear and turquoise water beach we can go to. " Sombrero beach was recommended. It was absolutely beautiful. There was only a few people there. It was very quiet. We all took some photos and then we saw jellyfish,... More

We had 2 experiences here. One morning it was beautiful. The water was fantastic. Parking is right there. Next day we went in the afternoon and there were jelly fish everywhere.

Have been here several times. It's always clean and not crowded. There is also a shady park behind the beach and clean restrooms. If you're looking for a party this is not your beach. But if you like simple and quiet this for you. Great sand and calm warm water as well.

There are only a few beaches in the Florida Keys and Sombrero is a real nice one. There are palm trees along the sand, great parking, clean facilities and real nice walkways. If you are looking for a beach in the Keys be sure to check out Sombrero! On the Atlantic in Marathon!

We went for a few hours only the water quality was clean and clear. They have ample free parking ,nice clean shelters and park for kids. It's out of the way so not crowded at all. Most people don't know it's there. Would recommend

We wanted to find a good beach staying on Marathon. Sombrero is a nice and clean beach without driving off the key. It is clean and safe and had a good crowd the day we were there. It is not a groomed beach like those in other parts of FL, but none in the Keys are. It is relaxing and... More
