We had an absolutely fantastic trip with capt Brent and his mate Josh. You could tell that captain Brent was extremely experienced and knew what he was doing from the time we put our lines in the water until the time we got back to the dock. Josh knows the boat very well and how to fish efficiently with captain Brent as well as make a fantastic sandwich 😉,and was great with our youngest kid of the group who was knew to fishing. They got us on a ton of dolphin and at one point had 250 fish behind our boat. They were both kind and had a lot of fun messing around with us during our 3 day trip. I highly recommend anyone to coral charters. We will definitely be back.

Let me start off by saying, these guys are AMAZING! My husband is an ex charter captain from Florida...he said about this boat: good tackle, good bait, good jokes and a full box.
We started fishing with them last year and we booked two trips this year and it did not disappoint.
The mate Josh was patient and fun to be around. The Captain was courteous and knew where to go due to conditions. They will not disappoint!!!
We can't wait until next year!!!!

This was our second time my fiancé' and I went with Brent and Joshua and brought our close friends along for the experience. Last time we went for a half day, this time we went for the full day. Weather conditions were very challenging but Brent and Joshua , through their expertise and experience, were able to maximize the productivity of the fishing experience and delivered on an unforgettable day.

Recommended with enthusiasm. If you want a top notch fishing experience with two anglers who are masters of their craft, look no further than Brent and Joshua and Coral Charters.

We booked a Trip with Coral Charters and Brent and his first mate did not disappoint!
It was windy as hell and Brent and Joshua did an excellent job of putting us on fish in rough conditions. The meal we ate that night was spectacular. First time eating Yellowtail and it won’t be my last. I highly recommend Coral Charters and I will fish with them again. Thanks for a memorable day !!!!

What an absolutely fantastic day for a fishing adventure. Captain Brent took us out for a full day of deep sea fishing. Went to a hotspot where Josh hooked and help catch our fill of Wahoo fish and mahi-mahi. It was an experience we will never forget.

They filet all the fish for you and received great advice from other locals on how to eat it raw. The best sashimi sushi we have ever had.

It is an absolutely must to go fishing with these guys. The experience and skills that Josh has with hooking our catch was undeniable. You can’t feed a family of 9 breakfast, lunch and dinner for 5 days without mad skills!

We booked a half day family fishing trip with Captain Brent and first mate Josh. They did a great job teaching and helping my wife and three daughters. We wanted to catch snappers for dinner and Captain Brent knew where to take us. We caught fish all day long. More fish than we could eat for several meals. We also caught a 300lb grouper on a 50 lb test line and now the whole family is hooked on fishing. Great equipment, fun guys, and great conversation! I would definitely book with these guys again!

Brent and Josh at Coral Charters are the fishing team for you! We have fished with them over 5 times and have never been disappointed. Every time they work hard to give us a fun and exciting experience. For those who complain about not getting fish they don’t understand how fishing works. Captains and their crew are responsible for the safety of their guests and that sometimes means making the hard choice of not going where their guests want to go. However when that happens Brent and Josh don’t give up, they try and make sure as much as possible you still walk away saying you had a great time and more often than not you still walk away with an amazing catch. No one else will work as hard for you as they will and do it with the humor and a true passion and genuine love of fishing that is hard to find nowadays. So don’t wait, book them now and book them often. You won’t be sorry!

My family and I had a great experience with Coral charters and capitán Brent. My kids were so amazed fishing and having fun. We caught so many fishes that we had delicious dinners. Boat was really nice, comfortable and very well maintained. Capitán Brent was funny and he definitely knows the business. We recommend him and we definitely will come back. It was awesome.

I can only imagine the pressures of being a charter boat captain when you can't control the weather, the sea, or the bite. I'm sure it's hard to make sure every trip out ends with plenty of fish in the box and happy customers. I get it. My issue here is with effort and commitment to making that happen.

Looking back, I should have noticed that there was no communication with me until 10:00 the night before our scheduled trip. I had solicited departure information a week or so before so I knew where to go but usually I get a welcome email or call with some questions and instructions when I book a charter. Not this time.

We were supposed to target Mahi at my request but I followed up with stating that I wanted to catch fish, preferably Mahi. Now, what I expect from a professional guide is to be professionally guided. If you CAN'T catch Mahi then I expect to be told that. If the weather and sea is not conducive for offshore trolling then I expect to be told that. Not this time. Long, long story short we drove around ALL day in 3-5 ft seas getting beat to death for 2 bites all day. All day. Here's the bigger issue: we never changed tactic, no live bait, no changing lures, nothing... Just 4 lines with single pink/white plastics out the back and drive all day long. No deckhand, no guidance, nothing. I can still hear that Diesel engine knocking in my brain... I could not wait to get back to the dock with our single Mahi. I felt like a hostage all day long. No effort. No care. No good. Worse charter I've ever been on.

I would like to start off with that as he stated, we did have contact about a week prior to the charter date. The nite before the charter around 9pm I called to confirm and answer any last minute questions. He told me he wanted to target mahi-mahi. I told him that this has been one of the worst years I've ever seen and it has been very bad fishing offshore. Also I told him it would be 3-5 ft seas offshore and that it would be rough but not unsafe. I recommended to fish the reefs and wrecks where the bite has been best. His answer to me was "I want to catch mahi" I'm not going to take a paying customer to fish the reef when that not what he wants. As we are heading offshore, he looks over at my depth sounder and asks "where do we anchor to catch mahi." I told him that to catch mahi we had to go offshore as I said the nite before. About 17-30 miles offshore. Knowing what I said the nite before and the morning of, we pressed on. At about 2 hrs into the trip, he told me he could not believe that we haven't caught anything yet. My response was. "It's been a very bad year offshore and that's why I recommend fishing the reef. But you cannot catch mahi at the reef. " After a couple hours trolling and chasing birds who was also trying to find the fish we got a bite. He grabbed the rod and handed it to his young son. I thought that was cool. Unfortunately we lost the fish just out of gaffing reach. Then about an hour later we got another one. This time we got it into the boat. He then told me this was not fun and he wanted to call the charter early. Back to the dock at 3 pm. I only charged him for a 3/4 day even though we were out longer. I felt bad even though I had said how terrible the offshore fishing had been. Please remember that when the Capt doesn't recommend doing something, it's in your best interest not mine.

I will start with the one good thing I can say about Captain Brent: he brought us where the fish are. We did catch plenty!
If you’re looking for a family friendly fishing charter, I recommend you look elsewhere. His foul language and dirty mouth are not something that was enjoyed. Brent started the trip with what he must have considered humor. Nobody seemed to find it humorous except for Brent himself. This could be because the “humor” was at his wife’s expense, and he was in the presence of a lady, a child, and a senior. This is not the type of humor that I would consider appropriate for a family fishing trip. I also found it distasteful, the names that he was calling his ship mate, and his comments about rape. This man seems to have quite the Napoleon complex. I will never recommend this charter. I have also notified my local friends of our experience and lack of respect from Captain Brent.

Wow! Just wow! Never had any clients in all my years misinterpret what I say. The word rape is only used by me to describe what some people do to the waters while on vacation especially during mini lobster season and the first few weeks of regular lobster season. FWC reports over 30% of our stock is taken in the two day sport diver season. So I would say when people are caught with over 250 lobster in possession after 2 days diving, I think the word rape is totally acceptable. If still offended the the word, please educate yourself and google the definition as you then might find it an acceptable term. Now on to whom was fishing the charter as a family. A man who’s age was early 70’s a man who was in his early forties a young man not a CHILD who was 14. The lady as she puts it is questionable? Never have I had anyone scream at her husband as a whole 2 blocks around my boat herd her. As he came back to the dock with his head hung low, I asked was that your wife?Yes he replied. She gets like that sometimes and I just walk away. There is nothing I can do about that except clean all there fish and continue their trip. She left the guys there as I cleaned the fish. When she returned to pick them up it was nothing but smiles and thanks. Napoleon complex? Why because I’m short and I’m a captain? Haha ding ding ding you got me there! The only thing you left out was fat and feet like a hobbit. But maybe I beat you to that. Me and my first mate Josh have worked together for some time now. He used to run my second boat before the hurricane. He wanted me to get a larger boat and Fish together. When I did he was extremely excited that we could fish together again and says to this day he plans on going nowhere. Also he read this review and is stunned by what was written by this person. As far as telling all you friends to not recommend me that’s fine. If they have as unpredictable behavior as you it would be appreciated! Please look at the next review down with father mother and two young girls had to say in their 5 star review. Also here is an unedited picture of the charter that day in the picture bar. As you can see the total lack of happiness in their faces is to why this review got my attention the way it did.
