Yesterday my husband (65) and I (62) enjoyed the all day snorkeling and Private Island excursion aboard the Spirit. We were on board with a family of 5 and under the watch of Captain Larry and Mica. This trip could not be more enjoyable. The Captain was incredibly informative and once at the snorkeling and Island never once took his eyes off of his passengers. Mica ran himself to death taking care of us all with equipment, fetching drinks, snacks, lunch and any other need he anticipated. They let us stay however long we wished at the locations. The snorkeling at the reef was an incredible experience and from the very second of getting in the water we were constantly surrounded with vibrant fish of all kinds and colors, in warm water so clear I felt as if I were in a 3D movie. The island had an abundant supply of kayaks, paddle boards, pool noodles, etc. if going I recommend water shoes though not required. This excursion will remain a true highlight of our trip. These guys are top notch and professional. Would recommend to anyone!

Friendly & professional staff. Their inventory seem to be older (like most boat rental places), but the boat we had worked fine. She was a little bearded (algae) and therefor heavy in the sea. Nice smaller Garmin touch screen GPSmap got us safe around in the shallow waters. Good stereo and a pretty new bimini top too. They topped off the fuel on our return so we didn't have to spend time on fueling. Over all a great day at sea!

My family and I went on a snorkeling excursion with Larry and Micah. We had the absolute best time! We saw beautiful fish, learned alot about the ocean spot they took us too and most importantly made us feel absolutely safe. On the ride back from snorkling Micah took time to go around and ask everyone their story of why they are there. It made our trip even better. 100% absolute recommend coming here!!!

We rented a boat from Pips last year and everything was perfect, a Robalo. This year, not so much. We rented a Parker boat called misfit. Strange helm setup. You need to stand to drive this boat because of the upward location of the wheel. Not pleasant. We spent alot of time finding a snorkel spot because of heavy winds. I go to throw the anchor only to find that it was not set up properly. Coral breakaway anchor with the shackle in the crown of the anchor. There should have been wire ties attaching the anchor chain to the eye of the anchor. But no! So the anchor was useless. HUGE SAFETY ISSUE! Pissed, I brought the boat back. Fairly, they gave me a credit for half the day which was ruined anyway.
The operation is like a well oiled machine, the boats are a little long in the tooth but they have new Suzuki motors
The important thing to relate here is if you want to rent a boat from them, make sure you have them show you the anchor setup. It can ruin your day.
Gave them one star review only because of the lack of attention to detail and the safety issue of having no usable anchor. I told the rep that these boats should have extra wire ties on board. She said "good idea."

If you’re looking to get taken advantage of, look no further. Renting a boat from Captain Pip’s you will encounter the following:
1. Rude, unprofessional and uncaring staff
2. A boat rental agreement written up by number of hours NOT days as advertised. This means that if you rent for 3 days, you actually only get the boat for 57-58 hours, plus 2 hours to clean the boat yourself.
3. Additional charges for cleaning, over and above what you are required to do yourself. And rest assured you will be supervised while you clean.
4. A $356 charge for approximately 10-15 gallons of used gas. This is in addition to the cost of the boat rental itself.
5. Repairs being conducted on the boat after the clock started for your rental.
6. Faulty electronics, GPS, fish finder, depth finder, etc. that were not successfully repaired during initial attempts detailed above
7. A hair-raising, terrifying trip back to shore after dark with no GPS or navigational equipment, or lights to guide the way
8. Absolutely zero remorse for your poor experience, and nothing made right in the end for all your trouble.
There is only one bright spot in this business, and that’s the nice office staff.
If this sounds like your kind of vacation experience, then by all means, go right ahead and book. We will be taking our business elsewhere from now on.

Rental boat didn't work so gave us a working one that had less power, bad ladder, smaller GPS, poor steering, torn up and dirty with roaches in all the holds. Asked for compensation and had to pull teeth to get a small amount on an almost $2000 rental. Been renting annually for almost 20 years...never again, poor customer service. Still waiting on receipts for over 2 weeks..also $50 they say they discounted - no proof of that on my account either. Rude. Little or not response. WOULD NEVER AGAIN

Let’s just start by saying this is the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. I decided to reserve a boat the night before for my husband as a surprise. I paid the full day rental before hand. Here I am excited to take my husband fishing. Once we got to the rental place, the flamboyant male staff immediately sized us down from head to toe. I greeted him with a “Hello”, and he asked for my ID along with my credit card for a deposit of 750.00. I handed him my Amex, he goes on to state that they do not accept Amex In person but only on their website. How does that make any sense? You accept Amex online but not in person? He goes on to questioning me multiple times whether or not I’ve ever driven a boat. I answered him multiple times, “yes,” this isn’t my first rodeo. At this point I already felt very uncomfortable with the way I was being questioned. So I decided to request a refund. He promised that I would receive it within the day but yet it’s been three days and I still haven’t gotten my refund. Long story short, don’t waste your money here. As a paying customer I refuse to be treated this way. Clearly, you don’t want my business and I don’t mind finding another boat service rental that values customer service. Luckily in the midst of this I was able to find another place called Vacation Boat Rentals that was very helpful. Vacation Boat Rentals doesn’t even require a deposit at all! So like I said why fight someone to rent a boat while there are plenty of other places that cherish your business.

Disappointed by the boat rental. The hull was very dirty, green algae 4 to 6 inches long all around the waterline and the bottom was not better.
That boat did not want to get on plane, we spent hours at slow speed, not getting anywhere. Dangerous too.
A quick pressure cleaning could take care of that in 10 minutes but this hull had not been cleaned in probably one year. We complained to the office and they did not care.
Some stuff was broken: swim ladder, hanging nav. light. Cushions torn and dirty, holes in Bimini top, missing safety gear (hook and paddle). Unreadable GPS and gauges.

We rented the 27' Sea Fox for 2 days in June. The boat was fine, GPS worked great, but the fish finder DID NOT work due to the fact that there was no transducer. When we mentioned it to the dock master, he said "nobody uses a fish finder down here...we all go by numbers", which is crap. Make sure the fish finder works before you leave the dock!

We did the 3 hour snorkel trip with Capt Angie and Sharkey. Highly recommend for kids or anyone starting their snorkeling life :) Sombrero Reef is a pleasant 30 minute ride and all was casual and safe. Thank you Capt Angie
