A small place but has a lot of underwater diver's original suits and good stuff if you're interested in history of diving gears and books, gifts. Good for children and adults.

Thank you for the kind review! The Museum defiantly does expand beyond the history of just scuba and into the origins of diving overall. Who knows where the future will lead (I have a hunch it'll be rebreathers!)

This place was recommended by a friend. It was full of history, organized well and interactive for kids. Reasonable entrance fee and they will supply a scavenger hunt to keep younger kids engaged as well.

Florida Key's Road trip was awesome! (3 Replies)
Hey everyone! My husband and I just got back from our RT. 1 roadtrip down the Keys. We had a blast! Here's kind of what we did and would recommend or not recommend from our trip. Day 1 - We took a day to drive the first half of the Keys: Miami to Long Key State Park (mm 67.5). We stopped at the Everglades, History of Diving Museum and Robbie's before setting up our camping site at Long Key State Park. We were underimpressed with Key Largo. However, I do wish we had had the time to go...More

Hi, We plan a trip to Florida next spring break and I was wondering if someone have comments on my itinerary. I'm looking more for "don't miss that" or "it's way to far to do that in one day" :) You know what I mean? My itinerary is mostly done, but since I will go there, I don't wanna miss something around the corner that I was not aware. Also, I change hotel from Fort Myers and St. Pete (or Clearwater) because it's seem too far for me to always stay in the middle of everything I want...More

Your itinerary is pretty good. A couple of tips. Snorkeling from shore in the keys is not that great, no reef close to shore so not much to see. A snorkel trip to Looe Key would be better. Your should research the Florida Keys and Key West forums on the many other things to see & do while there. Unless you really want some beach time I would skip Sombrero Beach. You will have better beaches on the gulf coast. Weeki Wachee is a small park, nice springs there, rent tubes and lockers early...More
