My partner and I booked a dive here in December. We had explained over the phone and then later in person how it had been over a year since we'd last dived, and that we were only certified for Open Water. The owner insisted twice (once on the phone and later in person) on booking us for a 100ft dive with nitrox, even though we hadn't be certified to dive that deep. Appalling and hazardous judgement on his part. We only did that one shallow dive, where the boat and dive groups were pretty disorganized, one group had over 6 even though their website states otherwise. There are a lot of dive shops in the area, I'd recommend finding another one.…

We are from South Dakota and booked our dives online prior to flying down to the Keys. Upon arriving, we received a call from Mike at Key Dives letting us know he had set us up with a different dive company due to his boat not being available. We dove with the other shop on our first day, then with Key Dives the rest of the week. The difference between the two was marked. Key Dives was more about giving us a memorable experience while the other dive company’s only goal seemed to be just get us in the choppy water (only 20’ down so we felt the chop for the ENTIRE dive). Key Dives took us deeper (60’ to 70’ which did the job of getting us out of the surg). Mike, Kelly, Daniel, and Alyssa were all very attentive and made sure our equipment was rinsed from the day before, our rented wetsuits were dry the next morning (it’s cold here in Dec so we wore 5mm wetsuits), and that sufficient weight was in our BCDs to get us to the bottom. We were a little concerned at first about diving with so many other divers, but Key Dive split us up in to small groups so that it felt like boutique diving. Ken, the boat captain was extremely thorough at keeping track of everyone, helping each of us off, and then back on, the boat. All of these guys were amazing at remembering our names, which isn’t easy when most of the time we are together we are all covered from head to toe with dive gear. We will definitely be going with Key Dives the next time we are in Islamorada!…

I have been a PADI Divemaster for 26 years. I have been on dives all over the place. In all the time I've been diving Key Dives is the best dive shop/boat I have ever encountered. The professionalism, the genuine care for my people's enjoyment I have never seen to this degree. We dove for three days in October, there is not a single thing that I can say could have been done better! I am already putting together another group to bring down in January. Ordinarily I take trips to different places. Now I want all my divers to experience Key Dives way of doing things. Richard Stewart…

We went on an afternoon guided two tank dive with Key Dives. The crew took great care of us. They helped us in and out of the water and changing our second tanks. They also did an excellent job of pointing out marine life during our dive.

We had several trips with key dives and had a great time on all of them. All of the staff was helpful, professional, and attentive. They let us go as snorkelers (when they have space available) and were great about giving us directions and tips about what to see where. We were super fortunate to get to snorkel with bonnethead sharks on one of the trips!! On that same trip we also got to watch a sea turtle eating a porcupine fish! We really appreciate their commitment to the environment. Key Dives and their staff have been instrumental in efforts to clean up the reefs from debris, to teach about responsible diving practices, and to continue to protect and rebuild this precious place.…
