My father in law and I really wanted to catch some tuna, another captain we spoke to tried to deter us from going for tuna because it wasn't the season for tuna, but when I called Captain Kenny, he didn't skip a beat and said he will make it happen...and I should add, we only had a half day, so we couldn't go too far offshore. My father in law and I have both done a ton of fishing, so we knew the possibility of not catching tuna in the off season was very real and we were ready for that too.
We arrived at 6:30 am and Kenny and First Mate Phil were just doing the last gear checks, we boarded and off we went. Kenny and Phil briefly stopped at the reef to get some bait fish and then we headed out. Before too long Kenny pulled up to a spot and had Phil throw some lures out for trolling, it didn't take long before tuna started hitting. It was a school of smaller football size black fin tuna and we were pulling one in every 3-5 minutes. After catching about 10 we moved on to go for some bigger tuna, and once again, it didn't take long before Kenny stopped and we started using live bait, some deep and some shallow. We both had several chances at landing big tuna, but unfortunately there were also sharks in the area taking advantage of the hooked tuna and eating them before we could get them in. Kenny apologized for the sharks, clearly having no control over the situation, and after awhile recommended we try going after some Mahi Mahi. Phil changed out the gear and we went to another location and started trolling for Mahi Mahi. Kenny did a fantastic job putting us on the fish, again it didn't take long before we could see the schools of Mahi following our bait and then, just like that, we were bringing in Mahi one after the other.
At that point, our half day was coming to a close and we headed back to shore. I had never been fishing for tuna, so I'm very pleased that Kenny and Phil were up to the challenge, and man did they deliver! We would definitely recommend the Caribsea to anyone looking to have a great time fishing, Kenny and Phil were outstanding and clearly know their stuff, and we are already working on another trip with them in a few months.

I’m writing this for my husband and my dad (neither are on Trip Advisor). When we booked a week in Marathon, my husband did his research on sport fishing charters and came across Captain Kenny. He liked that he was a small, family owned and operated business. His rates were lower than many others in the area and we wondered why.... but it was apparent within moments of meeting him. Kenny and Phil aren’t doing this for the almighty buck. They genuinely LOVE fishing, love getting you hooked on something cool and love the sport and excitement it brings. What a pair these two were. Pristine fishing boat, first class rods and equipment and fresh bait they caught before going out that morning. Super knowledgeable, friendly and relatable, my dad and husband learned a ton, caught a bunch of fish (even though they could hear all the other boats on the radio calling it a day with no luck). Kenny and Phil knew just where to go- and it paid off- a huge sailfish!!!!
Our family was blown away by these guys- 10/10 we’ll definitely be back to fish with the finest that the Keys has to offer. Thank you to the crew for one of the most memorable days ever.

Never been on a fishing charter before, never even really caught a fish. Both Capt. Kenny and his first mate Phil were total legends. Knew what was on offer given the current seasonal conditions and gave us two options on where to go based on what we wanted. They also gave us their recommendations as personal passionate fishermen. The boat was really clean, comfortable, and they had two massive coolers with ice and drinking water on board. They had all the gear needed to catch little bait fish all the way up to the big fish. On the particular day that we went, word on the island was that the fishing was bad people were coming back with nothing. But Capt. Kenny took us to a spot wayyyyy out and we ended up with 10-12 Tunas, a solid Wahoo, and some Skip Jacks. Phil made sure there were lines in the water on both sides of the boat and taught us how to use some of the different tools and of course gave us a good yell when a fish was on! After we got back they filleted everything for us and sent us home with a smile and some fresh fish. Would 100% use Caribsea next time I'm back in the Keys.

Fished 2 days. First day Capt Kenny and his son KC caught us live bait then put us on the most steady fishing any of us had seen in a very long time. We ended up with around 40 Dolphin and 8 Tunas. Second Day Capt Kenny and his mate Phillip caught us live bait and put us on the snapper, we ended up with about 50 keeper snapper and plenty of other action throughout the day. It was pouring rain and very rough, but they still made the best of it, even when all the rest of the local charter boats had cancelled. These guys are real deal and will not back out on you the morning of regardless of the weather. Kenny kept us all laughing and happy the whole day, and both mates we had were very personable, hard working and knew what they were doing.

By far the best fishing experience thus far in my life. If you’re looking for an amazing experience look no further.
Captain Kenny & Phil masterfully sail the sea. Their professionalism and responsibility will make you comfortable at all times and not have to worry if you going to get hurt while on the boat/ocean. The positive attitudes and general know how will make learning easy and fun. Yet two things set them apart from all other excursions: positivity & personable.
Before you even step on the boat you’re walking through Captain Kenny’s yard. This is the first indication that you’re not going on any regular fishing trip. Throughout the day Captain Kenny & Phil learn your name and want the experience to be the best for your tasting (listening to what you want to catch & now best to do it). There positive attitude keeps things rolling. For us tuna wasn’t being caught they didn’t stop our game instead they said let’s go get snapper. When we lost the fish a few time no big deal there’ll be more to come.
Overall the entire trip is worth every cent & you will not be left disappointed!

We book with Kenny and crew every year and often bring guests with varying degrees of experience.
The Caribsea team are very professional and accommodating and most of all help us show our customers a good time on the water.
The boat is also a plus. It’s a custom design; allowing for maximum use of space and outfitted with the best gear.
Mates are key on these outings and rarely take a break. Kenny trains his mates well to ensure they have the skill to handle the pace of a big boat while still providing instruction, tactfully. Don’t forget to tip your mate!
Finally, experience. Their level of knowledge about fish, how they behave and when to go where, based on a multitude of factors, is part of why we come back with fish when others aren’t so fortunate.
Great job, guys! See you next year.

Kenny and Crew are Fishing Finantics. It's not oftern you find a Ca[ptain and Crew wh owant to catch fish more than the Charter.
Captain Kenny put in the longest day ever taking us from one patch to another, off the reef to the drop-off to limit out on multiple species of reef fish, then Sails, and when we had our fill of that, went looking for cobia. Kenny didn't want to come home and wanted to keep going until late in the day when we said we had enough.....Ifish with CaribSea every time I am i nthe keys.

Had a great full day charter with Capt Kenny and mate Phil on the Caribsea. Great communication with Jeannine and then Kenny. First the boat is terrific for a offshore charters. Multiple live wells. Terrific upper deck seating as well as open area behind fishing platform for comfortable seating whether watching lines, scanning for birds or taking a break. Top gear and all the bells and whistles to maximize your fishing experience.
Bait was hard to get so they got up early and got the bait prior to our arrival at 715 so straight out to fishing without a typical hour stop to try and find bait as with many boats. Of course bait can be dependent on conditions so this eliminated that potential concern. Really appreciated them already having bait.
Fishing was very good. Generally a bit slow this time of year but had 8 keeper Mahi and 8 black fin tuna. Largest was around 15 lbs but had several other black fin taken by sharks. While we were running a bit over on time stopped and tried for mutton snapper but the catch was below the size so did not end up with any snapper (however we did yellowtail a couple of days before so had plenty of snapper).
Overall a very good trip. We have chartered recently with 3 offshore boats and all have been good trips. Overall Caribsea will definitely be a good choice

We went out on Caribsea two days in a row. Captain Kenny and his mate Phil are amazing! They are knowledgable and charismatic. They put us on the fish and there was no quit in these guys until we got everything out of the trips we were looking for Mahi , Tuna, and even a shark. Highly recommend Caribsea for fishing charters in the beautiful Keys!

I've chartered all over the US, and a few foreign countries. There have been some good charters, and some so stiff they weren't enjoyable, but on February 5, 2021, we had the best charter ever! Captain Kenny and Mate Phil make you extremely welcomme, and work all day to give you a great fishing experience, all the while explaining their fishing techniques to make you a better angler! We caught yellowtails, grouper, King mackerel, Cero Mackerel, blue runners among others. The variety was excellent. The boat was extremely comfortable, and the rest room was very clean for the lady! Just a great day all around. Thanks Kenny and Phil! We'll be back!
