Every time fishing with Captain Bruce of Captain Easy Charters is incredible. He knows the water around the keys like the back of his hands, and knows many different techniques to put his clients on the fish! 10/10 I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to have a great fun fishing experience down in the keys. The best fishing spot in the world. Also his boat is pretty awesome too! Thank you Bruce see you soon!

My wife and I have been on a number of charters over the years. While most have been good experiences this one ranks right at the top. Captain Bruce worked relentlessly from netting the bait at the start of the day through filleting our catch at the end. He never stopped working to make our trip successful. We started on the reef and soon we were catching Yellowtail. Bruce is very personable and offered a wealth of info about both the fish and what techniques might work for us as we tried several. After getting close to our limit on Yellowtail we tried some deeper fishing. Again Bruce gave us the info and techniques which resulted in more action, but this time with much larger fish. I'd also like to add that his boat was comfortable and well suited for the job at hand. His tackle was also in good repair and performed as it should with no issues. In the end we had caught a nice variety of species resulting in some memorable fights and a full cooler. What more could one ask for? We are already looking forward to our next trip with Captain Easy!

This was our third experience with Bruce and he made it a great experience like always. He got us a bunch of fresh bait, made sure we were always comfortable and always made a great conversation. He put us on some big amberjack, mutton snapper and a bunch of other fish throughout the day. He made sure to get us some dinner for the week that we could take to some local restaurants. Very friendly and fun experience!

Captain Bruce was amazing! We started off the morning catching fresh bait and not 20 minutes later he had us on some fish. We caught our limit of blackfin Tuna in no time. After some short adjusting he started looking for some Dolphin, this was also a short amount of time and he found a spot and right away we started catching fish again. What was unique is you would see a lot of the other charters and boats together or relying on each other to find the fish. Captain Bruce had put us on the two schools of Dolphin on his own and we were the only boat in the area. We had a group of 4 and once we hit the Dolphin we were catching fish the minute the bait was in. We kept Captain Bruce busy and he kept us on the fish, he worked very hard and constantly for at least 1.5 hours. We had caught so many fish and were yet to limit out on Dolphin but stopped shy of that due to the amount of fish we had already caught and the size. Captain Bruce did an outstanding job for not having a first mate and provided a very hands on and personal experience due to his boat layout. Don’t let the type of boat fool you, you’ll catch fish and be very satisfied at the end of the trip. Once we returned to the dock he cleaned our fish is a prompt manner and pointed us in the right direction on how to get it packaged and shipped home. We will definitely be returning customers with Captain Bruce. Our group was all smiles the entire trip. The price you pay for the service provided is more than worth the money.

Captain Bruce and Mate Ian were great. They put our family right in the middle of the action out on in the Gulf. Family with 2 kids, ages 14 & 11, we asked for calm waters and to just put us on some fish, and he delivered. We always had fish on during our 4 hour trip. It was a fun day filled with memories our family will talk about for a long time.

Fishing with Captain Bruce is a real pleasure. This was our fourth trip with him and we always catch fish. This year my son and I got into a school of mahi and had a blast catching our limit. We were then introduced to deep dropping with electric reels. Caught my first Blueline Tilefish. Captain Bruce works hard to make sure you have a good time and catch fish. Looking forward to our next trip to the Keys. I am sure it will include another trip on the Capt Easy.

Let me start by telling you that Captain Bruce is the consummate professional and an outstanding fisherman who takes great care of his clients..
I am an ex sport fish and head boat mate and avid saltwater angler who owns a boat and charters somewhere in Florida no less than several times a year. By my own admission I am very “judgey” about boats, captains and crews.. from the quality of their tackle, how well it’s maintained , how well they prepared for the trip and how well they adjusted to changing conditions during a trip..
Having fished with Capt Easy several times now I can say unequivocally and with out hesitation that Bruce is the only captain that I have repeat fished with and is the only captain in the keys that I consider when planning a trip.. (if he’s unavailable I’ll stay at the dock)..

My Wife and adult Step-kids and I spent a week on Key Largo. I have fished with Capt Bruce 3 times in the past and all were great trips. However, our trip on Monday Jan 27th was amazing!!! Our first spot fishing was for Vermillion Snapper, which we started to catch, but then porpoises arrived and were mooching our fish and our bait. So we moved spots and Bruce got us into Vemillion Snapper, Sharks, Jacks and Grouper (which we threw back). We caught many fish, kept 14 and Bruce filleted them at his dock. It was a truly wonderful Charter. Bruce was great helping the Ladies and let the guys do our thing with baiting hooks and we even caught a couple "big ones". We cooked fish in the evenings for dinner the rest of our stay...some on the grill and some fried. Bruce is an awesome Captain and we'll Charter with him again and again!!!

I ( family and friends ) fish with Capt. Bruce every year at least twice...
Capt. Bruce always finds the best hard fighting fish, we've never never been disappointed in my last 12 years of 'CATCHING" Our next scheduled trip is in early December... It has been my experience fishing over the last 12 years that if you fish with others, it'll only be once...

Do you arrange "make trips " when one person is looking to fill up the boat with others that are looking to share the cost so 3 looking for a 4th?
Written December 26, 2015
Hello and thanks for your question. We do sometimes arrange which orders between more than one party. It is however rare that we add an individual onto a charter that we already have booked. Your best chance at getting added onto a charter is the come by the docks the day or two before you want to go fishing and also to check in with the local booking offices at the marinas.

Venice, Fl resident and will be visiting the Keys during March 7/11 with grandson 15 years old. I fish quite often in my area and would like to take him to the Keys for a couple of days fishing. Is this a good period for your area? What can we expect to catch? Reef/bottom or offshore? How many do you take and as a two-some, how can you fit us in? What will costs be? Including tips?
Look forward to your reply.

Hi Al
March is a great time to come fishing down here in the keys. We catch a wide variety of fish that time of year and both reef and offshore fishing can be very productive. Most days what species we target depend on what our customers are most interested in and also the weather and sea conditions on that particular day. Anything from snappers on the reef to dolphin, tuna, and sails outside the reef and offshore can be very good, We take a maximum of 6 passengers, but really up to 4 is ideal and 2 people make a great charter. The costs right now start at $750 for a 1/2 day and it is customary to tip about 20% of the charter rate to the mate.
