We did the Jet Ski tour and it was amazing .Over 2 hours of Cruising the Bay with some really cool Snorkeling in between. To top it all off we encountered a school of Dolphins jumping out of the water 20 feet away from us. The guide provides some really interesting facts about the waters and small islands. I highly recommend and it has a really cool tiki bar and restaurant with some small antiques stores when you first arrive

Parker was an awesome guide. He made us feel very comfortable especially as my 18 year old was driving a JetSki for the first time. We got some history, snorkeled in a nice spot and even got to see 3 dolphins come pretty close to us. It was wonderful. I definitely recommend the 2-hour option. One hour would have been too little. It was nice to have a guide and just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. Also you get an all day access pass for Kayaking with this booking and you don’t have to use it the same day.
Stevie was very helpful on the phone to sign us up! He also suggested my 18 year old take the boating license test for $10. The license is in effect for 12 months, that was great advice and well worth the cost.
Thanks to all for a great experience!!

A truly amazing experience on the jet ski tour with Oscar.
Oscar is a diamond of a tour guide. He was always so very helpful and patient whilst also allowing us freedom to experience the full potential of the jet ski. The mangrove elements were a highlight but honestly the whole hour long excursion was something very memorable.
It felt a wonderful way to see the Florida Keys at their very best.
Thank you the Kayak Shack and for thank you Oscar!

This review comes after a total of four visits to Robbies. I live in downtown Miami, and HIGHLY recommend to locals and visitors alike that a trip to Robbies and getting out on the water is a must. I took a kayak the first time out which was nice, but I switched it up to jet ski tours with my eight year old daughter.
Jeff (tall Jeff....there are two Jeff’s) has been our tour guild for the past couple of trips. Every interaction with staff has been extremely pleasant and professional.
Plan on making an entire day of a trip to Robbies. Show up early to test your reflexes while hand feeding massive tarpon, take a two hour tour around beautiful Islamorada on a jet ski skimming along blue waters, and grab a bite at “The Hungry Tarpon,” the food there is surprisingly good!!!!

Didn’t actually get to kayak. Their website still advertises a “sunset tour” I called about 2 months before my trip to ask about it and they said the “tours” were self guided and that we could just show up. So on our last day I showed up around 2:15 before sunset (website says leave 3-2 hours before sunset) and I was told we could not go out and that all kayaks had to be returned by 4:30 which was over 2 hours before sunset and the person at their shop said he’d never heard of them doing a sunset trip. I looked through other reviews and I see the last review mentioning the sunset tour was in 2018 and it was a guided tour. So I guess they don’t do it anymore. Very disappointing that they haven’t updated their website. Since it’s our last day here we won’t get to kayak now.
I would definitely come back to try it, so this review is more so no one else shows up expecting a sunset tour.

Good trip. Jet ski is actually pretty quick, top out at 50 and on water that feels fast. Saw dolphins, guide stopped and let us check them out. Snorkeled in Atlantic side millions times better then gulf side. Tons of fish, water felt great. Recommend putting towel in jet ski. It got a bit chilly after we where wet in water driving back at 45/50 mph.

We took the 1 hour tour with Oscar. He thrilled us the entire ride. We had so much fun. We will be back again. If you are a pack rider we had the skis full throttle several times. We went through mangrove tunnels, rode along the highway and out in backcountry. Great time

Pull over and go to this place at Robbies. Take the Kayak tour thru mangroves, and if you are up to it and the weather is good, paddle over to the State park. If not, it is still a good 1.5-2 hrs of fun, and you might see some crocks and other wildlife, but mostly an easy paddle. If it is windy, consider going on a double kayak with a friend as it is easier not to get blown around with two. If not, go solo, but you do have to duck and pull your way thru some tight spots, but nothing major.

We had an amazing time on the 1 hour jet ski tour with Jason as our guide! He radiated positive energy and made the experience so much fun!! He was the main reason we returned the next day to go on the 2 hour jet ski tour. We had an awesome time & lots of memories were made. Highly recommend!

Hi,
Do you guys do hourly kayak rentals and if so what is the pricing?
Written August 8, 2017
Do kayak rentals need to be reserved in advance or can we just show up the day we'd like to go? Also, if we only have 1-2 hours is this enough time to see the mangrove tunnels? Thank you!

Hello
Thanks for inquiring about the Kayak Shack we have beautiful shallow water that's super clear with small sharks, rays, jellyfish and starfish. We generally do a self-guided tour with trail maps and a full orientation before you leave. Single kayaks are $40 for four hours. And $55 for doubles if you like a full day it's $10 more. We have 3 1/2 miles of mangrove tunnels and trails back behind us and to state parks that are islands you can paddle out too. If you would like to rent snorkel gear it is $10 per set, includes mask, snorkel, fins. We point out where the crocodile said baby sharks stingrays birds and wildlife hangs out. We are open 8:30 to 5:30 every day. If you'd like to take a guided tour we need a 12 hour notice and 4 people minimum to set one up. The guided tours are $45 per person and it is a two hour tour through mangrove tunnels seagrass beds and flats. Please call 305-664-4878 to book your tour. for further information and thank you from all of us at the Kayak Shack team.

Written March 29, 2015
Well, It's almost every day warm weather in Florida.
I suggest you should go when the crowds are low and when the mosquitoes are not so busy.
Furthermore, what is warm? (20 C, 25 C, 30 C?)
