We left in November. The crew was very attentive, friendly, they looked as if they really enjoyed their job. They paid special attention to the younger kids on the boat. I have been on several party/head boats and this crew was the best. The fishing...More

We didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars to charter a private fishing trip, so we decided to try the "head boat" for a chance to catch dinner. I realize that a "fishing trip" isn't the same as a luxury cruise, but we were disappointed....More

Myself and wife are beginners when it comes to fishing. This was an inexpensive way to spend a morning on a lovely safe boat, fishing off Key West. The day started overcast but then become a beautiful day. I caught some nice fish, which the...More

We had a blast on the Tortuga. We caught a lot of fish, and the boat is BYOB. The boat was crowded with other groups and it is first come, first serve with purchasing tickets. Arrive early!

Any fishermen on here? (5 Replies)
I have a bunch of questions for any fishermen out there in the Key West area 1) are there any good spots to fish from the shore that are easily accessible? (i know, I know - no spot burning) :) u can email me directly if you have a spot you'd like to share and not post on a public forum. if so, what bait would you recommend? just some fresh shrimp or should I try to catch live bait from the beach and then liveline that? 2) are there any good deals on charters? most I see online are...More

If you think of Duval Street running N - S which it almost does, at the south end is a concrete pier where people fish in the morning. On the north end, one street over at the end of Simonton, there is a similar pier with a small public beach where people also fish. And people will fish from the Mallory Docks in the morning, over by where the cruise ships come in. Better places are on the other side of the island off Higgs Beach either from the beach or the White Street pier there, from...More

OK, T Minus 22 hours and counting until Key Day. We are taking the Tortuga IV party boat out on Sunday to do some reef fishing. Nothing fancy, but I fully expect, if the weather allows, that we will catch a few. I have heard that you can take your catch to some restaurants and they will chef 'em up for ya. Any suggestions? We will be coming in near the Half Shell and Turtle Kraal area, I believe that is where they are docked. We will be in KW from the 23-28th, and besides missing our...More
