Went out for 3 hours. Charged me $750. Tried two spots and caught a couple minnows(at best). No effort what so ever on there part. Severely disappointed. Please don't ever use these people. I have been fishing my whole life and have never been let done like this crew let me down. I'm at a loss of educated words so please heed my warning

We're sorry about your day out on the water with us. We do try as best we can to get you where the fish are, but sometimes they just don't bite. I hope you'll give us another opportunity to impress you sometime. Sincerely, Beau, Operations Manager

So evidently the old captain is off and his old ways of being in charge are out the window. The new guy running the show is Bo and he asked me to give them an honest review on TripAdvisor multiple times. He will probably regret that request.... First off, we caught fish. Lots of small grunts, some small yellow tail, a small red grouper and a couple of houndfish. This was all due to our mate Mike, the "Dark Angler" - he was awesome and incredible and saved this trip from being a complete disaster. This was Mike's first trip aboard this vessel, but if I had to guess it will probably be his last. Skipper was great as well, although we didn't have much interaction with him. He and Mike apologized profusely after our "3 hour tour" for the way the whole thing went down. When we arrived, they were all happy to see us. Engineer Bo happily took our money and continued to assure us they would take care of everything and even when I needed a beer he would have it open and brought to me before I was even finished with the first (the beer I brought, all they provided was water, that Bo sent his buddy to get about 2 minutes before we were to push off). Bo never brought me one beer the entire evening. He asked a couple of times, usually right after he watched me get my own out of the cooler. He spent the evening arguing with the Mate and talking mad trash about all others. He conceded that he hated the mate but that he was the best mate on the island. Then when my wife and I were fishing he continued to instruct us to do the exact opposite of what MIke the mate was telling us to do. Mike was incredibly professional the whole trip, while being cussed out and berated by Bo. We endured constant GDs and MFs coming from inside the cabin where Bo was complaining to his friend about how things were going down. Bo was on another planet the entire trip. Maybe alcohol, maybe drugs, I don't know. But he was constantly repeating himself and using sailors language the entire time. I'm no prude and the use of bad language doesn't usually offend or bother me, but it got to the point where my wife was very nervous the entire trip and even feared for our safety thinking a fight of some sort might break out. Yes, we caught some fish and had an evening on the water, but for what we paid for this it was certainly not worth anything even close to half of what we got out of it. Not sure how to find him, but look up Mike the "Dark Angler" and try to find a boat that he is a Mate on and you will enjoy yourself. Stay far far away from the Afternoon Delight though. This operation is a complete disaster. Bo was so intoxicated he fell off the boat when we arrived back to the marina. He was up on the front of the boat doing something and we all heard a splash. He literally fell off of his own boat into the water. Kinda sad actually - I hope he gets the help he needs - but whatever you do, don't book his charter. A horrible waste of a lot of money and 3 hours of our vacation we will never get back. Stay away!!!

We took this charter with another couple and the show started before we even left port! Capt King is totally unprofessional! While I respect his service to our country, I do NOT condone his treatment of his crew or his customers. We were told prior to leaving port that "he" calls the shots, and that if anyone gets sick, he would end the charter. We had no live bait, and trolled 2 Bally Hoo the entire time....nothing else for 8 hrs...caught one barracuda, which he insisted on putting in the cooler "for pictures later." Noone on the boat could understand why he would keep a fish that was unedible.....about 1/2 way through our 8 hr charter Capt. King proceeded to cuss out his crew, for nothing of their fault as Capt. King was "running the show." On our way back to port we had some rough seas that seemed to freak Capt King out, and he proceeded to pace the deck cussing the crew up top for not noticing it earlier. Capt. King proceeded to tell us that the weather was "condition red".....which actually means no motor and no land in sight....we could see Key West!!! My husband proceeded to clear the deck of fishing equipment and made sure everything was ok....Capt King kept pacing....shouldn't he have been up top at that point "running the show?!?!" Worst experience ever!!!!

Biggest waste of money. Control freak, won't let you touch any gear, didn't catch any fish. Would have rather hit the bars on Duval and had a good time.

2 March 2016.Five of us booked a 3/4 day fishing charter with Afternoon Delight. Dustin was a pleasure to talk with and signed us up for the following morning. The boat is decent and the fishing gear is in really nice condition. Now I know why---Its never used ! We should have known something was wrong when the final payment was made prior to our departure. Dustin required the tip of 20% to be paid up front, CASH ONLY NO CHECKS OR CREDIT CARDS. Never heard of this before. During the safety briefing on the way out, we were told that if anyone gets motion sickness and throws up, Capt. Allen was going to call quits on the charter. Stay seated in case we hit something, even though we were in the cruise ship channel and doing 7 knots for the entire charter. Trolling was a joke also. Even though the weather was excellent ( light winds with 1 foot or less) and the outriggers and rods were on board and ready to fish, we ran TWO rigged bally hoo the entire time. I suggested we should have run more feathers and jigs just for the smoke trail and surface commotion only to be put off as a tourist. Capt. Allen then had a small tangle and started yelling and swearing at Dustin (he was driving the boat) including the F- bomb. I'm no prude, but the two women on board were not impressed with this behavior. The on board webcam was said to be working but when land side friends tried to access it, all they saw was a continuous loop of a night fishing video. Capt. Allen also tells some pretty tall stories about his guiding adventures in the Yukon. Three of our guests were from Alaska and never heard of the places that were mentioned. At this point I would like to say that this was not anyones FIRST fishing charter. also, one of us has been delivery crew for 21 years on the east coast for motoryachts and a first mate on a Great Lakes fishing charter boat. one of us is a back country guide in Crystal River Florida area. The two women had been fishing in Alaska for numerous years, ocean and fresh. We were also told that the Coast guard advised him of bad weather on the way, even though it wasn' due until the evening, he called it and began trolling back to port, even though we remained at the red entry buoy (MOA Key West Channel) the entire time. If Dustin is running the show, Give it a try......If Capt. Allen is on board .....look for another charter!!!!! Oh yes, and we did get ONE fish that got in the way...!!!! .

We're sorry about your last experience with us, Michael. That's definitely not the kind of fishing trip you should expect when you're out on the water with us. We're working on improving each and every day, so I hope you'll give us another chance to impress you down the road. All the best, Beau, Operations Manager
