Second time with Amy and Sand and Sea Charters and once again, a fantastic time! As before, Amy tunes in to the desires of a group and somehow is able to navigate all the different desires and abilities to provide a memorable experience, fishing, lobstering, snorkeling and just exploring the beauty of the mangroves and reefs of the Florida keys. I can't recommend Amy and her business highly enough- she's the best, and we'll back- Thanks again Amy! George and Isabel, from San Carlos Ca.

While we have lived in Florida now for 13 years, we have never tried our hand at lobstering. So when looking for a charter to spend a day out on the water while in Key West, we knew we wanted to find someone who knew "the spots" and would be willing to work with first-timers like us. Amy exceeded our expectations from the moment we stepped on her boat. She was not only very knowledgable about the island, she throughly explained the Art of Catching Many Lobster...from how to use the equipment (which she provided) to expert "tips" on how to catch the Big One! During our four hour charter, she took us to three different spots, all unique in their marinelife (which she enlightened us on before we got into the water)...we saw a wide variety of live coral, sponges, colorful reef fish and of course...LOBSTER! Amy's genuine love for what she does is so apparent, you can't help catch her enthusiasm for all that The Keys have to offer! While this trip we didn't bring our two kids, we plan to book with her the next time we return with them so they can have the totally fun, yet educational, experience we just had!

About a month ago, I organized a family getting together with kids from East and West coast locales for a vacation in Key West. My daughter was coming down from New York, while my wife, son and I live in California and love the Florida Keys, really enjoying the warm water sports there. As we'd been there before, I wanted to try something new, other than just fishing, so I contacted Amy, with Sand and Sea charters. What she delivered was an awesome, memorable day, involving snorkeling, spear fishing, going to a completely unpopulated, pristine beach and, to end the day, showing my kids how to dive for lobsters resulting in an excellent meal before they took off to go home the next day. Really, nothing could have been better- she is attentive, safe, and knows her boat and business extremely well. When we return to Key West, she will be at the top of the list of people to contact for water sports/activities.

So this was a compromise trip as my diving partner had never spearfished before and I have done quite a lot over the years. Amy found a good compromise on selecting spots that suited us both. We shot some fish, dived a few lobsters which she cleaned and we had a great lunch cooked for us at our hotel of lobster and fish. Amy is a direct but friendly and enthusiastic Captain so if you want an enjoyable day spearfishing give her a call.

We've been coming to KW regularly for three years, and only recently did we become interested in getting out on the water. I was given Captain Amy's number by another boat, and we wouldn't even consider going out with anyone else! The first time we booked with her there were four of us. We met Capt. Amy at Hurricane Hole and we were ready to go.... and the addiction to the water began. Capt. Amy's boat is clean, safe, and she is able to provide snorkel equipment, etc. upon request. On the first trip out the four of us had requested to snorkel. Capt. Amy put us right on the reef for snorkeling, took us to see a pod of dolphin, and then we spent the remainder of the day on Boca and on a sand bar. Capt. Amy speared our dinner and we had her catch for dinner that evening at Hurricane Hole's restaurant. Our second trip there were two of us and my other half wanted to learn to spearfish. Capt. Amy accommodated and several fish were caught and served for dinner that evening. We also snorkeled and hit the beach on that trip as well. Both trips were full day trips. I can't say enough about how wonderful Capt. Amy is, and how she can take four land dwellers from Kentucky and turn them into ocean lovers. None of us can imagine going to Key West and not doing a trip with her! Next time we all want to try spearfishing, and I'm sure she'll introduce us to something we haven't even thought of yet. Also, as the most nervous (read: control freak) of the group, Capt. Amy has a way of making me feel safe with her knowledge of the water and our surroundings. She knows her stuff folks. She's changed how we look at a trip to KW; the trip gets planned based around going out on the water!
