You have to be careful in Key West because almost all the attractions are expensive and only some of them are worth it. Have been to many butterfly attractions and this is definitely one of the better ones.

Admission is a pricey $15/adult, $12 for seniors, and $11 for kids that even a dedicated butterfly lover would not spend more than an hour in. You can save $2 off adult admission by finding a coupon in the Key West brochure.

However, the butterfly house is absolutely flooded with butterflies that include lots of different species. In addition, there are some beautiful birds and even two flamingos you can get close to.

Parking is fairly convenient as there is a city lot next to the butterfly house that you can park in for $5. Combine a visit here with the Southernmost point marker (about two blocks away)

The very best money we spent in Key West was for the 45 minute Flamingle held after closing hours. I am a huge fan of flamingos and the Conservatory is home to Rhett and Scarlett flamingo. The store has many items for gift giving, and the butterfly collection is simply amazing. The plants are beautiful, birds are gorgeous and the property is well maintained. The staff is fully focused on their customers and I recommend this site to everyone - young and old!

This place is a must while visiting Key West. The variety of butterflies and tropical birds (yes birds, look up in the trees to spot them) is amazing. Go early in the day as admission allows you to come back as often as you like throughout the same day.

This review is meant as a warning to others. We got lucky and found this info in time. You must purchase your tickets and enter before 4:30 (even though it’s open until 5:30). The staff is unpleasant and overly focused on enforcing that 4:30 cut off as they all clearly would rather be elsewhere based on their attitude and loud conversation.

That all being said, the place itself is great, really peaceful and relaxing. Beautiful nature, awesome butterflies and birds. We loved it. But holy god the attitude problems. As we were leaving we heard a family being tossed rudely because they were there at 4:32 pm. Mind you, it doesn’t take an hour to go through this exhibit, that’s just their rule and they intend to enforce it.

The bitter pink haired older female employee in particular took obvious satisfaction in refusing people entry. This staff needs flat out fired and new ones brought in. Nice butterflies only get you so far in life

We enjoyed visiting the butterfly garden this week!!! The butterfly’s are beautiful to see flying all around you as well as the colorful birds.
It’s fun to try to take pictures of the blue monarch butterfly’s as they only land for a second so you have to be patient to get a picture of one.
They also have a great gift shop with lots of fun and interesting items. Once you pay your admission to the butterfly exhibit you can return again the same day as many times as you like which we did.
Don’t miss this place while visiting Key West!!! It is located close to the buoy at the Southern most point!!!

My husband and I were looking for something indoors to do on a rainy day so we decided to go see some butterflies. We weren't alone - there was a line out the door and down the sidewalk to get in.

Admission seemed a bit disorganized, but the staff members were very friendly throughout the process. We enjoyed seeing the butterflies, birds and flamingos in the conservatory. A butterfly hitched a ride on my sweatshirt and stayed there almost the entire time we walked through.

TIP: If you go on a rainy day, bring an umbrella. The awning didn't extend out very far so lots of people were getting wet as they waited in line.

NOTE: If you're worried about COVID, you should probably skip this attraction. Mask wearing was not enforced, and you'll be in an enclosed area with a lot of people for the duration of the experience.

We visit the Butterfly House every time we come to Key West. This is always a memorable part of our trip. The cost is about $15 per person, but you can re-enter again on the same day! It is located at 1316 Duval Street. The best time to visit is in the morning because the butterflies are more active then. Butterflies love the color red. If you are hoping to attract a butterfly, wear a red shirt. In addition to the beautiful butterflies, you will also see a variety of birds including 2 flamingos!!! The staff is very friendly and helpful. They share many interesting facts about everything you will encounter. The Butter Fly House is open every day at 9 and closes at 5. 4:30 is the latest you can enter. We usually spend between 1-2 hours here. There is also a nice gift shop at the location. We highly recommend you plan to visit the Butterfly House.

This was a great tour with a lot of information provided before going in to see the butterflies and birds. They take conservation very seriously and are very respectful of the nature on site here. It may seem a bit pricey but you have all day access so you can go thru again at any time which we took advantage of to see more. Definitely worth the visit!

We visited this place one morning. The cost to get in is $15 and we spent about 1.5 hours going through it. The conservancy is a nice little walk through a large greenhouse. The number of butterflies and other animals in it is amazing and beautiful.
I would advise this little tour for anyone with kids. I would also recommend that if you want to go, to get there before the cruise ships unboard. After the cruise ships dock, this area gets flooded with tourists because of the southernmost point landmark.

This is a miraculous place! When you pay for entry, you're given a time and you can go through as many times as you'd like until that time. We went through twice! I loved learning about the butterflies. There are also flamingos and different birds flying around as well.
I would go back in a heartbeat!
