Be sure to stop by this distillery while in Key West. You can get a shot glass for $10 and you can sample all of their rums. These are a bit different in that they only contain sugar cane, not any molasses. Tour the factory and hear about the history and how things are made. Grab a bottle to go.

So we go into the distillery tasting room and they have just 4 bottles of Simonton 105 bottled and we just happened to be there when a sweet lady gave a bottle to each of us as a present. Just out of the blue! Karma and kindness go with you on your travels sweet lady! Now on to the rum.... More

The tour of the rum distillery was very interesting, and we got to try the sugar cane that they used to make the rum. They also offered five different types of rum for you to taste, which was a bonus.

Buy a shot glass and get a tasting. A couple of these are the best rum I've ever had. And I LIKE rum! The tour is really interesting too.

Stopped in while out on a bike ride and wandered into the distillery room. Employee Renee was there, who promptly greeted us and asked if we had any questions. She was on shift working and spent about 15-20 mins of her own time telling us about the process and how it worked and answering all of our questions. She went... More

Really really good rum, worth the $10 shot glass to try all the samples. Free tour was short but informative and helped us to understand what was unique about their distillery process.

Stopped by just to check it out. Ended up buying "shot glass" and a bottle of "Bad Bi^^h Rum Spanish Marie". It was that good. Tasted all of the Rum and they were all good. I'm not a Rum drinker, but this is so good I had to have a bottle for the bar at home just for something different.... More

The actual distiller, Peyton, gave us an informative and interesting tour. After that, we had tastings of all the different rums, led by Lori (an entertaining and knowledgeable host). The rums are so unique, you really need to take a bottle home and show off to your friends.
