Captain Eric took us on a 4 hour fishing and snorkeling trip to the reef. Fish weren’t hungry so we ended up searching for and finding lobster for dinner which was amazing. Captain Eric went above and beyond to make our trip enjoyable and we even got a nice sunset cruise on the way back to the marina. It was our best day in key west by far and we Highly recommend laid back key west!!!!

Sorry this is so overdue. During a cruise in June 2019 we booked Eric for a morning boating excursion, which I must say out of all our stops on the cruise, this was our best excursion! Eric picked us up right on time right next to the cruise ship and away we went. Took us out to some great snorkeling spots prior to the crowded cruise and excursion boats arrived and it was spectacular! Lots of stingrays and spotted Eagle Rays!! Then we went on the hunt for Dolphins and we were not disappointed, then just chilling in some shallow reef water enjoying the great weather! Eric was very communicative and will pick up whatever you need for your trip (we ordered some beer/wine and snacks)! For the 5 of us it was a Perfect Day!

My boyfriend and I booked a half day all activities charter with Eric! His knowledge of the local waters and snorkel sights is far beyond any other Captain we’ve chartered with before! We snorkeled 6 different sights all of which were a blast. The boat itself was very comfortable, plenty of cooler space, seating and also shade for those who don’t want to be in the sun all day. Awesome boat and even better captain, can’t go wrong with booking this charter!

There are a on of charters but I'm glad we found Eric. Just what we wanted - laid back, no stress day. We caught fish (can you ever catch enough?) and had a nice ride, he kept us entertained and safe and when we return will use them again without hesitation. He fillet our fish right away and the restaurant at Hurricane Hole blackened them up for lunch for us, our favourite moment of the trip.

Fishing, snorkeling and an awesome sunset. Capt. Eric was very helpful and accommodating. His fishing gear was top notch and the snorkel gear was the best charter gear we have every used. To top everything off the restaurant (Hurricane Hole) in the marina prepared our fresh caught fish for us when we returned. I highly recommend Capt. Eric and Laid Back Key West!

This was our second trip with Captain Eric with the last one in 2019. Three adult kids one boyfriend and Mom and Dad.
Eric is a great guy, very accommodating and, I’m assuming, he has dolphins on payroll who arrive and perform on command.
It was a bit windy and therefore choppy on the water but the boat handled it very very well and our excursion was great!
Next trip down we will probably try to go out twice, once to fish and once to float like a fish while enjoying a cocktail.

We had such a amazing day out on the water with Captain Eric! He knew exactly where to take us to see the turquoise water, dolphins and white sandy beaches. This was a last minute trip that we didn’t plan but couldn’t have been happier about. Eric never stopped smiling and made sure we were 100% taken care of the entire day. 10/10 would def recommend and would go on this tour again any time!

Captain Eric was a great fishing guide and provided an awesome experience for our whole party. We opted for backcountry fishing in the Keys - this entailed retrieving live bait then heading out to a ship wreck about 45 minutes from Key West. Many fish were caught, including a shark, which was safely released. Eric was very knowledgeable and professional. Our party of three adults and two 8 year-olds all had plenty of opportunity to real in multiple fish. We ended the evening with beverages and a beach swim.

We have been on several guided tours and Captain Eric was by far the best guide we’ve ever had. He was so attentive to all our needs and made it such an enjoyable experience. We did everything from swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and a beach retreat and he even cooked up our fish in some amazing fish tacos. Great guide and even better person. If you are looking for an amazing experience in Key West you can’t go wrong with Laid Back Key West. Thank you for making our trip such a memorable and unforgettable one! We will definitely be back!

So much fun. Went out with 4 friends. The boat was immaculate. Very clean and well kept. Captain was awesome. Most of us were snorkeling and free diving to catch the lobsters. Captain was helping us to reach our limits. We all limited out and then we went to a sandbar for the rest of the trip. I highly recommend Laid back Key West.

Will be in key west January 27–30 with my husband, 8 year old, and 11 year old. We’d love to go lobstering! Is this time of year good? If so, what dates work and what is price range?

I just found this question... Very sorry for the delay....anyway January is a "OK" time to do Lobstering. The very best time is Lobster Mini Season which is always the last Wednesday and Thursday of July. The main season starts August 6th and goes till March 31.
