I really wanted to visit this museum because African-Bahamian history seems to be underrepresented in Key West. I searched the Internet for a website for the museum or even a review online from someone who had visited before. Oddly, I couldn't find anything but an address for the museum which you can find if you massively Google. We found the address and there was a sign posted outside with Mr. Sands name. There is nothing to indicate that this is a museum although there were what appeared to be two very large tombstones in the small front yard. A man working in a yard next door confirmed that this was the museum but he didn't offer anything else. The whole situation was becoming increasingly awkward. We decided to ring the doorbell in one last ditch effort. The front door was open but no one ever answered so we left. I have since seen a couple of different sites that list business hours that are from Monday to Friday on one site and list Monday and Wednesday on another. We were there on a Wednesday. Bummed.
