We are a family of 4 that sailed for three days and two nights (December 26 – 28, 2020) with Captain Rick and his first mate Milika. The first night we anchored off the Marquesas islands, and explored this uninhabited island. We touched conch, held the sooty sea hare in our hands, and gathered gorgeous sea shells. The second night we anchored off the Boca Grande. Though the water temp was 68 degrees, and the air temp a about the same, our young adult children snorkeled and enjoyed seeing all the marine life. Sunrises, sunsets and stargazing were all fabulous. The biggest impact on the trip, though, was that Captain Rick is genuine. By welcoming us into his catamaran, he welcomed us into his home and his way of life. His passion for sailing was easily shared with us, as he seems to have a gift for teaching. Milika was charming and gracious. By the end of the trip, we had all become friends. This is the type of trip that leaves a profound impact, not just on what you saw and did, but who you met along the way and how they changed your perspective on life. We are already planning our next adventure with Captain Rick.

We did a 5 day sail to the Marquesas Keys with a night at Snipe Point. We were hoping to head to Dry Tortugas but the weather didn't cooperate. Even though our itinerary changed and we weren't able to click off another National Park, we greatly enjoyed the trip. Captain Rick and Georgia were great. They both have fun and interesting personalities and do a great job of reading their guests. If you want to chill, you can chill. If you want to explore deserted islands, snorkel reefs and wrecks, play Pirate Farkle at night and share interesting stories, you can do that. The food was very good and the memories were great.

Captain Rick and first mate Danica were our fantastic hosts for a 3 day 2 night trip to the Marquesas and beyond. Excellent food, wonderful snorkeling and great sunsets made for an extremely relaxing getaway from the current global commotion.
Thank you both for a world class experience!!

If you are looking for a more personal experience than many charters, Captain Rick and Georgia are your team. They very clearly value the relationships they build with their charter guests, and appear to genuinely enjoy the time they spend getting to know those they are hosting. Captain Rick clearly knows what he is doing at the helm and is able to make any charter guest feel safe on the water, and Georgia is so on top of any other needs you may have. The dinners they prepare were phenomenal and I never had an empty cup. We had an incredible time exploring the Marqueses, looking for treasure, snorkeling, and even attempting to catch our own lobster dinner!

Captain Rick and his crew provided an exceptional snorkeling and sight seeing excursion on his beautiful catamaran, the Tortuga! I highly recommend a trip around the keys or any of the other charters that are offered. He is an experienced Captain and excellent host. The boat is elegant, clean, spacious and comfortable. We went to the best snorkeling and sea life areas to be found! Captain Rick and his crew strive to provide the best sailing experience possible. I highly recommend it!

My husband and I had the pleasure of sailing to Boca Grande with Captain Rick and first mate Cindy Lou. There is nothing like waking up on your birthday to a beautiful sunrise over the ocean! Every aspect of the trip was incredible. Rick and Cindy Lou were extremely accomodating and friendly - just the perfect mix of attentive yet down to earth. We went snorkeling, explored the mangroves, enjoyed the most surreal stargazing, and ate amazing food. Being off the grid like that has a way of rebalancing you. It was very refreshing. My favorite part of our trip was the marine life - dolphins, sea turtles, conchs, sting rays, you name it. And if you are into sailing, the Tortuga catamaran is one pristine vessel! Without any exaggeration, my husband and I truly wished we could have stayed there forever.

Capt Rick and Mate Ashley provided a fabulous trip out of Key West to the Marquesas. They are very friendly and felt like old friends after the first hour. The boat is immaculate and comfortable. We snorkled a reef that had more varieties of fish than any I've seen in Florida (even in mid-January the water temp was pleasant). The nightly meal of grilled fish was prepared better than most restaurants. Beautiful scenery and just plain Island chill. I recommend you book a trip for your next vaca. I was also pleasantly surprised with Key West in general...much nicer than I imagined for the time before and after your boat trip

We did a 3 1/2 day out island adventure for our 20th anniversary trip. Best decision ever! Captain Rick, Cindy Lou, and Danica provided the foundation for an unforgettable trip to create some of our best memories together. We snorkeled reefs, a wreck, and then an area where we where allowed to take empty conch shells. We made trips to the beach, rides through the mangroves, played in the currents. We had eggs, bacon and fruit for breakfast, excellent sandwiches for lunch and fresh seafood dinners in the evening that were all outstanding. We saw sunrises, sunsets, and beautiful star filled nights. These guys knew how to balance activity with relaxation and S/V Tortuga is a comfortable yacht with comfy areas to sit, ride, and of course sleep. The entire staff is excellent at their jobs, fun to be with and our entire experience met or exceeded every expectation. If this is something you think you might want to do, do it!

Just got off the mighty Tortuga and couldn’t wait to tell the world how wonderful Captain Rick and Georgia were on our adventure through the florida keys. We were greeted enthusiastically and whisked onto the boat and it felt like just minutes and a safety briefing before we were off.
We were treated to fabulous fresh fish dinners every night and Capt Rick’s specials for breakfast and lunch. But Capt Rick and Georgia were really what was special about the trip. They were accommodating and funny and willing to bend over backwards to make our experience special.
We’d be happy to be a part of the Tortuga crew again.

This was, by far, the most amazing adventure I've ever experienced! Wildly exciting and, at the same time, supremely relaxing. Captain Rick and our First Mate, Sydnie, made sure that our time on the water was unique and memorable. Great food, beautiful sunsets, thrilling sea stories....all wrapped up in a feeling of camaraderie and fun! We even got to witness an epic fight between a (huge) hammerhead shark and a spotted eagle ray! Where else can you get all of that in one package?!?!
Do yourself a favor and charter an adventure ASAP!

We have 3 couples that want to do multi day trip to Dry Tortugas. Recommendations
Written January 3, 2022
The Dry Tortugas National Park rangers highly frown on this practice and it is typically only allowed in situations where a visitors health, safety or weather conditions prohibits a return journey back to Key West from the craft that the visitor arrived on.
For a non-emergency, a visitor would l need to coordinate a round trip sail/motor on the vessel as well as on the sea plane. Keep in mind that the craft you arrived at the fort will still need to return to Key West and the sea plane will be carrying one less passenger to the fort so that you can hitch a return ride. Crew, fuel and time is not lessened because you jumped ship or plane. You will likely pay the round trip cost for both plane and watercraft making it cost prohibitive for most.
