Key West fishing Fun. Capt Mike Weinhofer has been fishing Key West for over 26 years charter. I run a 37 foot SeaHunter center console for comfort and speed. I look forward to getting you out fishing. Patience for the beginner and Competence for the expert. We also do Back country trips for tarpon permit and sharks. Playing in the flats is like fishing in a fish bowl it is shallow calm relaxing and you can see the fish coming one after another.

What can I say beside WOWOWOOWOW what an amazing experience with one of the best captain in the keys. I love fishing in the keys and having someone that knows the waters makes a difference we have been out with other charters in the keys. So we called and asked the questions and we loved how upfront and honest he was with us. We went out 4 days each day was different experience from the big boat the Blind Squirrel, the center console, to the flats we tried them all. If you expect to catch fish every time you throw the line in it is not Key West Fishing. Captain Mike, and his mates made our days extremely fun and a great experience even with 7 of us on some if the boats. They also care about the fish they catch we had shark on a hook his team took the time to remove the hook and made sure the shark was good to back in. We had a place to relax when not fishing and enjoy the waters. I can continue to write here for a very long review from the BEST Fishing Experience in the Keys. Kudos to Capt Mike and your team !!!!!!!! We look forward to coming down with a bigger group next time our staff loved the experience.
I highly recommend Compass Rose for Key West Fishing and a day on the water.

Went out with on a half day tour with Captain Tony on the “Windy Day “. Was planning on going offshore for tuna and magi but the weather came up and we diverted to the gulf where conditions allowed us easier access and more flexibility. While the action was slow all around Tony was great and kept us moving til we found some fish off of a wreck. Came away with a big Barracuda and a few Jack Crevale’s.
Definitely recommend these guys as they are total pros. Just be straightforward and honest about what your goals are and keep communication open.

Communication is always super important especially on tough weather days. The great thing about the keys no matter which way the wind is blowing you can find somewhere to fish but you have to flexible about what you catch.

Captain Tony was a great guide! He was very professional and eager to make sure we caught a lot of fish (which we did) and had a fun time. We felt safe and every thing was well thought out and planned ahead of time on their end. We can’t wait to come back to the Keys and do it again! Thanks for the great morning!

We had a great day fishing with Captain Tony and First Mate AJ. It was not the best day for fishing - no current or wind and no bites when trolling, but they really did their best to make sure we had a great day. We caught some yellow tails and a large Amberjack which was good for 2 meals for our family of 5. They were entertaining and continued to try different things to get the fish to bite. We had a really fun day! I would highly recommend this company for a fishing trip. We did another fishing trip the day before with a different charter company and did not have a good experience. The Compass Rose boat was spotless and just as pictured on the website. Be careful of some charter companies who post outdated photos of their boats - some boats are much older than they appear in the photos. This was not the case with Compass Rose.

Thanks for coming out we appreciate it. Some days the fish don't want to cooperate and that is when you have to be willing to switch gears and chase what will bite. Some charters want to hang in there a swing for the fence which is cool but you also have to realize some days a sailfish may not want to bite so you try harder and then different spots then yo switch gears. The most important part is an open line of communication and letting us know how you're doing. Thanks for the comment about the boat we work hard to provide first class boats the SeaHunters are awesome and make the day more comfortable.

Booked a fishing trip with 5 other friends for a Saturday morning 1/2 day charter.
Cap Mike contacted us on Friday and recommended we wait until early afternoon on Saturday due to weather reports and kept us posted later that afternoon/evening and in the morning on Saturday with weather updates.
Best recommendation as we caught enough fish to feed 6 couples that night and the next night plus some! Couldn’t be happier with our trip and my catch...a king fish!

It is awesome when it all works out. Thank you for being flexible and working with us on the time of day for the charte. Sometimes it makes all the difference to be there when the fish are bitin. Hope the snapper was yummy.

We had an amazing morning with Chris! We were hoping for dolphin and Chris tried really hard to make this happen. In the end we caught a bunch of fish. 6 different species in fact. We had periods where all 4 rods were reeling in fish at the same time! Chris made it so fun and kept it chill. We would highly recommend this trip. Our group of 4 was daughter-21,Son -22, Husband and myself. plenty of room on the boat. Didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. Have Chris take your pics! He has great angles!!

Captain Tony and Mate A.J. were great. The boat, Windy Day, was well equipped and in great shape - very important when considering which charter to take. Made it a great day fishing. Booked with them directly to avoid the resort mark-up. They were well connected with other boats during the day so we could fish where the fish were biting!

This is our 3rd trip this year to go fishing in the Keys. We had a group of 31 and some with no fishing experience. Capt Mike and his team were patient and boy did we have a great time fishing. They cleaned our catch and recommend a local restaurant that cooked our fish. The blind squirrel had ac, bathrooms, tables, and high-end rods with reels. We will only fish with Compass Rose Fishing and Capt Mike.

We had a great time fishing on Windy Day with Captain Steve. Fish weren’t really biting because of storm the day before but Capt Steve did his best and gave us a great tour. See you next Christmas

We will get better weather next year Christmas week this year was tough, wind was howling and we have to hide sometimes to be able to keep it comfortable. Sometimes the fishing is a little slower than we hope but I'm glad you still had fun. Take care see ya next year

Celebrating my 33rd Anniversary with my wife in the Keys, she gave me a hall pass to head out fishing for the day, and what a great time on the water with Captain Steve! Highly knowledgeable, professional, and attentive and put me on fish as soon as the lines were in the water. First time on a Seahunter too, and what an incredible fishing vessel and ride it was for going offshore. Highly recommend for the experienced and novice fisherman, these guys are Top Shelf All the Way!!!
