In an old Civil War fort, the Garden Club has created a marvelous garden. Must see if you are visiting Key West!

The Key West Garden Club (all volunteers) has made a wonderful use of these ruins of a long ago (Civil war) fortess. There is no fee for admission, but it's well worth a donation.

We were walking the half marathon course the day before the race and came upon this hidden gem. The Garden Club Member volunteer was super friendly and it was a simply gorgeous. We don't know a lot of the Key West history, but it was fun learning about West Martello and seeing all the beautiful plants. Take your time and... More

Take a break from the rum and enjoy this peaceful and historic park. This is a perfect stop on a bike loop tour around the island.

Beautiful conversion of the Martello fort to a garden club! Not large but plenty of nooks and crannies with a variety of plant species being brought together to make a botanical statement. Loved the wind pipes overlooking the ocean and the huge vines trees dropping their aerial roots over the old brick fortifications. A most attractive setting! Felt sorry for... More

What a beautiful way to become acquainted with tropicals and to see the "big brothers and sisters" of our beloved tropical plants that we keep at home. Amazing, tranquil, and well worth visiting.

Happen to find this place as we were wandering and decided to stop in. Glad we did! Beautiful and unique plants - fountains, sculptures and a peace bell! Tranquil and lush. Free with donations accepted!

The local garden club has taken over an abandoned fortification and filled it with tropical trees and plants. If you are a garden lover do not miss it. It's free and parking is readily available nearby.

If you're in the area this is a nice respite and relaxing garden to wander through. Very cool way to rejuvenate an old fort, see local plants and learn their names.
