Hidden gem!
Apr 2019 • Friends
for sailors this is a hidden gem. They allow you to take out small boats in the protected Waters of Garrison bight, and farther out behind Key West if you are sufficiently skilled. Membership and a safety check out are required. Free sailing lessons for women from 10 to 12 Saturdays, and then from 10 to 12 Sundays. Membership
for a year here cost less than 2 hours' sailboat rental at smathers Beach. Once you are a member and checked out you can take as many friends as you want. Totally worth it. Laid-back funky chill vibe, beachfront location, awesome. Don't miss it.

I have been here many times with my friend who is a current member, he has his Catamaran here, people are so friendly, kind, you can sign as a member for about $200 bugs, is worth it. You can get sailing lessons, and Sail one of the junior boats

What a discovery ~ and worth every penny
Apr 2014 • Couples
In today's world of over-sold tourist packages, we were so pleasantly surprised to find this place. It felt like an "old school" place without the strict rules and regulations of most places today. We wandered in to meet dockmaster Robert D and he made us feel so very welcome. We sailed for two consecutive days on Hobie Waves in a stiff breeze ~ looking for manatees but seeing plenty of sea-life including sting-rays. Then we hung out and told sea stories with Robert on the beach and nobody else around. This place is a gem and all for a reasonable "annual fee". We'll go back whenever we're in town!

Best Deal in Key West!
Jan 2013 • Couples
We've been going to Key West for about a decade now and just found out about the Key West Community Sailing Center (KWCSC) two years ago. We sailed in the DC area years ago and my husband was anxious to return to it. So now he spends most of his daylight hours at the KWCSC during our two-week timeshare each year; and has a ball! Last year they build a boat from scratch. There's as much sailing as you want since the club owns numerous small sailboats and they race each other every Sunday afternoon--very friendly and informal. Non-sailers can ride with the race committee on the powerboat. There are the Friday night socials open to one and all and you can always find someone to share your sailing stories with at the club. This is not your typical big boat snobby yacht club; this is sailing for the pure love of the sport.

Key West Community Sailing Center ROCKS!!
Feb 2013 • Friends
The Members of the Key West Community Sailing Center are warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. They share their interest in sailing openly and with great pride.
Friday night is a Social "pot Luck dinner" where everyone is welcome to hang
out and meet new people. Unbelievably inexpensive to join a club where you
can use their Sail boats, Kayaks, and even Paddle Boards plus receive
instruction. Truly a bit of Paradise!!
