Went to see a quick movie and when I walked in I wasn't expecting to find it to be so cute and quaint. Not your usual theatre. Nice old fashioned looking candy counter and small theatres but they don't get as crowded so we were...More

A wonderful, old-school movie theater just off of Duval Street. GREAT LOBBY! Awesome selection of adult beverages available. Comfortable seats, and flavored salts for your popcorn! Beautiful exterior!

This is a surprisingly nice little theater just off Duval St. I stopped in to see Jurassic World when the temp. hit 96 degrees. The sound and picture quality were excellent, and the seating comfortable.

Tropic Cinema (3 Replies)
Does everyone know there is a cute movie theatre in town? I have always said I would go when it rained. Happily, I never have.

Right now it’s our only movie theater as the regal has not opened yet from Irma. They usually have some great first run movies as well as some sweet lesser known surprises but since the regal closed they’ve included some blockbusters that I’m not interested in but has brought in more of the mainstream crowds. The tropic is a mostly volunteer run organization and we buy a membership yearly to keep it running and get movie discounts. Definitely check it out on a rainy day.

Two places have opened on Eaton to satisfy your sweet tooth. Cakes by Karol has moved to the corner of Eaton and Simonton. They have cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and other sweets, in addition, they also have coffee, sandwiches, and breakfast items. Glazed Donuts has just opened next to the Tropic Cinema. Their chocolate covered glazed donut is fantastic!! I heard The Sports Page closed last night, and a real shocker... Albertson's is supposed to close April 28th.

Cold weather Activities (14 Replies)
With the change in weather I would just like to mention the Tropic Cinema. Going to a movie is the perfect thing to do when the weather turns, like this week. The Tropic has been extended since I last visited and it is now a really great place to visit (not that it wasn't before). The two people in front of us drank the bottle of wine they had purchased in the lobby while watching the movie! Only in KW!!!

I'm freezing my butt off in 13 degree weather and you have the audacity to tell me that getting lit in a theater in KW is a cold weather activity??!! No, no, no. Stop. You'll make me hate you.
