Family run establishment and awesome souvenir from Key West
You can’t leave Key West without getting yourself a pair or two of Kino sandals. This is a family run business and a unique and very comfortable souvenir. Tip: definitely recommend adding the $5 starfish embellishment to a pair of black sandals to really make them stand out. Even my 11 year old was impressed and got herself a pair as well. Great deal as a pair is less than $20 and made with real leather, right there in Key West. Also as you wear go about your day in a pair of Kino sandals, you can remember your time in Key West fondly.

Bought our first pair in 1970
Check out this huge store where you can get reasonably priced souvenirs or actual quality sporting supplies. Always check out the 4 for $10 tee shirts or get stylish brand name tees. Sandals and caps are brand named at good pricing. Try the out though they are a little off the main island.

    Still A Great Sandal
I am so happy to see that Kino‘s is still going strong after all these years. Growing up in the Keys in the 70s, everybody wore Kino‘s. If we wore shoes at all!! I have very vivid memories of going to the Kino‘s factory with my family. Back in the day they were actually $4 a pair!!! And they would make your shoes right in front of you once you chose your color. I remember it was a big deal when they raised their prices from $4 to $5. I wish them nothing but continued success for years to come!!!

This place was always mentioned as a top shopping destination in Key West. I was skeptical since it is bare bones when you walk into the store on a side street near Mallory Sq. You pick from a wide array of sandals on counters surrounding bins on the floor. They let you try on any you like and can request multiple sizes to see which fit best. My wife now wishes she bought 2 pair since they fit so well are are very reasonably priced.

This was the second time we’ve purchased sandals from here and they are great. The sandals are all handmade, you can see them making the sandals at the store. Bought a pair for our daughter 2 years ago and she wore them out. Very durable and can withstand water too. It takes a few days to break in the sandals, but after that, they mold to your feet and are very comfortable. We paid $22 for a pair of handmade leather sandals. Highly recommend a stop here while in Key West.

First time visiting store. Only 3 styles in women's size larger than size 10. Disappointed. Attendant helping spoke very little English and could not answer my questions. Purses are no longer made here.

We found this place about thirty years ago and every time I am in Key West I have to stop in and get a few new pairs of sandals. They along with other leather products are made right there. I was surprised this time that I was the only one in the shop but I know you can now order online (but it's not the same as visiting) and with the coronavirus going on but the prices are such a deal and the sandals last forever.

This is my 4th visit to Kino sandals. They always have different designs each year. My first trip 5-6 years ago I bought dark brown and these are my go every where shoes and the first ones I’ve ever bought. I’m currently breaking in my black pair ones from second trip. I have light brown with flowers at home and just picked up a navy pair, a leopard print pair, and a new dark brown. These are the best flip flops!

So bad. Very disappointing. No customer service. I walked in talking to my husband and the girl behind the counter ignored us. The pair I wanted was not available so she just turned around and went back to ignoring us. I went in to buy several pairs and left with nothing. I was looking forward to this stop on our cruise for months.

Nice place, easy to find, simple lay out with everything on a counter stretching the length of the store. Many different styles to choose from and the always have all sizes. Staff are friendly and get you what you need to try them on. They are said to be the best sandals around. Natural leather uppers and natural rubber soles, hand cut, assembled, and glued in their factory since 1966. Only complaint is that these sandals are not good if you have wide feet.
We were here January 31st and the shop is located a couple of minutes walk over from Duval St. It is kind of buried away in a small plaza, but signage is good and it was easy to find.
Two pairs of sandals were $56 plus tax. They charge extra to use a credit card.

We visited based on the reviews we saw online. They have a lot of different options/colors for women, some for kids and a few for men. I bought a pair of blue sandals for my daughter and she loves them! Good price, great fit and good quality. I wish they had some with arch support though - cuz I would have bought some for myself!

Been buying Kino sandals for more than a decade and always loved supporting this home-grown business and the family who started it.

But.

The time has come to fess up ... the sandals (while still being made there) are no longer made of leather.

Take a close look at a cross section of the material and you will easily see the tell-tale sign of fake leather; spongy, bubble-laced material that springs back when you press a fingernail into it, all backed by a felt-like lining.

I'm perfectly fine with continuing to buy Kino sandals at the price point, simply because I do like their product and want to support the business.

But they need to support their customers, too...STOP saying the sandals are made of leather (on printed brochure) and truth-up: they are now made of man-made materials.

Fake leather is NOT as comfortable nor conforming as the real deal, so that may sway your decision to buy.

Hope this is helpful...

My parents have been visiting this shop since I was about 8 years old. The shoes are like putting a roofing shingle on your feet, but they LOVE THEM! So, every year when I visit I drop in, grab them each some sandals, and give them to them and they love and enjoy them.

When you walk it IT IS HOT in there. The shoes are on display. You step up to the counter and a little lady (usually) comes by and you ask her for your size and style. Some styles arent available in some sizes and some plain sell out!

These ladies are quick and they service a ton of people at a time. The sandals are cheap (like $12 per pair I think) and they last forever.

Like I said, my parents love them. I go here every time I am in the keys.

Oh one other note - the restrooms are right next to this store and they are clean! Go while you can!
