The entire experience was top-flight from start to finish. My daughter and I had made reservations several days before the actual trip. The day of, it was pretty windy. I wasn’t sure I could do it. (I turn 60 in a few months.) I called to share my concerns and said I was thinking of canceling. The young woman I spoke to (I wish I had gotten her name) was encouraging. She told me my best bet was to get a tandem kayak with my 20-year-old daughter. I’m so glad I listened to her and followed through. The guided eco tour with Bethany was amazing! We had so much fun. She is highly knowledgeable about the local marine life and ecosystem; this native Miamian learned a thing or two on the trip. She stopped several times and had us gather around her while she showed us a starfish and particular type of jellyfish. She also pointed out several juvenile sharks. You can tell she loves what she does. She gave great instructions when crossing the channel or going through mangrove tunnels. All in all, a great trip. Next time I go down to Key West, we will be taking another eco tour with Lazy Dog Adventures!

Was looking for an inexpensive day trip with friends over spring break and came across Lazy Dog Adventures online. I love kayaking, so we rented kayaks for what I thought was only going to be a couple hours but were told we had up to practically 6 hrs to kayak which is awesome for the price. There’s also really cool mangrove tunnels you can explore, and the staff at Lazy Dog are so friendly and helpful so they’ll draw you a map and tell you where to go. I would definitely recommend using them if you’re looking into excursions in the keys.

Amazing day in the Backcountry

When I saw that Lazy Dog was running a special for the 1/2 day private backcountry charter I jumped on it. My husband and I went out on friday June 26th with Lindsey as our captain. We loved her! The weather was fantastic and the ocean was so beautiful. She took us out to an area called the Mud Keys. It was so pretty out there. We hung out on a sandbar and just relaxed in the water. We opted for kayaks rather then paddleboards and we had a great time kayaking around the mangroves. We saw several stingrays and also kayaked to a small beach. Lindsey was great and even dropped us off near our hotel at the end of the trip. She was great. Definitely a great trip!

Lazy Dog is Outstanding!

Hello! My husband and I are lucky enough to live in Key West. This week we have our son, DIL and grands visiting us. As we always do, we turned to Lazy Dog for fun family entertainment. Today, we decided to do an actual tour, rather than going out on our own, because I felt a tour would be more fun and educational for our grand kids. Wow! Bethany did not disappoint. She gently extracted several creatures from the water, educated all of us about them and let each of us hold them. She took us through mangrove tunnels and explained how important they are. And, perhaps it was just a stroke of luck, but I’m always going to believe she arranged it just for us, we got to spend several minutes with four manatees swimming all around us! It was spectacular!

If you are planning a visit to Key West, make Lazy Dog part of your adventure. You will be so glad you did!

One of the best parts of our trip!

Took the kayak tour and had the best time! The pace was perfect and the route we took through the mangroves was beautiful and full of sea life! Our guide was awesome. We had a party of 7, and every person would HIGHLY recommend this. What a relaxing way to spend a morning outdoors. There is a restaurant right next door, so we made an entire half day of it and ate lunch after right there.

A must in Key West

Not only was this adventure much more than expected, our guide Bethany was fantastic. She was so knowledgeable, charismatic, and offered tons of local recommendations for the rest of our trip. She went out of her way to ensure we got to hold and see jelly fish, crabs, lobsters, sharks, sponges, and much more. Much more relaxing and less vigorous than past kayaking we’ve done.

I've come here a few times to rent kayaks and just do my own thing with friends. The people - especially the young lady I was dealing with - are super nice and helpful, and the rental rates are reasonable. I'm glad this place is here.

Awesomeness on the H2O

Even though I live here in Key West. I learned a few marine facts today from Bethany(our tour guide). The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I have never used a kayak, their instructors had me paddling along like a pro. Next time I have guests in town, that’s the first thing I want them to try. You should book your trip early. They are so awesome, they full up fast. Thanks for a awesome tour. Lazy Dog is the best.

Lazy Dog is the best! Very personable and friendly. Peyton was our kayaking guide. She is very informative, relaxed, and genuinely likes getting to know you. Plus, they will pick you up for the hotel and drop you off afterwards! We will definitely do this again.

Our guide John was extremely knowledgeable about the ecosystem. It was very windy but John chose a route that kept us out of the wind as much as possible. I would highly recommend lazy dog for a kayak trip and I would definitely use them in the future.
