Diving a ship like this is much more interesting than most of the wrecks I've seen. They did a great job making this interesting and safe for divers. Less experienced divers can still enjoy the super structure at 45-60 ft.

The ship is so massive that it allows multiple dives. It is also well structured so that multiple level dives are easy to complete.

This wreck rocks. With enough swim through and cut outs to make it very safe for divers. You know you are going to penetrate the wreck even though you were told not to. Just scary enough to make you safe and just dangerous enough to make it exciting.

If you can get on the wreck w/o poor visibility and nasty current, I've been diving for 20+ years w/ >4K dives. The Vandenburg can be amazing... On a good day. My experience has been great about 30% of the time. The other 70% usually involves 3+ kt current and 20-30' visibility. Personally, I'd rather hit Key Largo and the... More

I have been diving since 1973 and made have made hundreds of wreck dives over those 40 years and had heard a lot of good things about the Vandenberg dive site and since it was my first trip to Key West I figured this was a "must see" location. While we were lucky that the current was not strong on... More

Don't miss it. The best wreck diving I've done so far. I now will have to see the exposition of the pictures by Andreas Franke.

We booked this dive with Southpoint Divers and the weather was a little rough. They quickly got us in the water and our dive master took us on a fantastic tour in and out of this majestic wreck. If you like wreck diving, it doesn't get much better than this.

I am a passinated wreck diver and this is for sure one of the most amazing wrecks I have ever been! This wreck has fantastic structure as it was a mobile comunication ship before being sunk. Advanced and wreck / cavern divers will love it! I have been there with Lost Reef Adventures: I strongly recomend them!

We dove the Vandenburg a couple years ago and it was fabulous with great vis and no current. We just returned from Key West and dove 2 trips. There were 4-6 waves the first time and the current was pretty stiff. On our second trip down the waves were only 1' but there was a very strong current. We stayed... More

The Vandenberg is a must for all divers with the right skill set. The dive can be anywhere from 65 to 130 feet. The dishes are very interesting and fun to dive around. There are swim throughs that have been clearly planned and make the risk of an overhead environment very well mitigated. Going into the ship should not be... More
