This is the best beach. You can walk so far out. Chairs and umbrellas are so cheap to rent and there's a wonderful restaurant there also. Crystal clear water

The problem here is that the water is very shallow. And, the smell of the seaweed on the beach (we were here in July) was rather overwhelming. The city should get a tractor and remove it!

There are others beaches in Key West to visit and stay. There's close to the center but not very clean.

Along with the rocks are sea grass and lots of fish. Also, the water is very shallow and you can walk out to the end of the pier.

beautiful small beach with warm water. the shoreline has some sizeable rocks so walking into the ocean is a bit tricky but once you pass it, it's all beautiful sand and interesting sea life to see with goggles.

Wonderful place to watch the holiday fireworks show. Easy access to restaurants for food and drink. Fairly crowed for the 4th but a good crowd celebrating the counties birthday!

There are no real beaches in Key West. They are imported from other islands, notably in the Bahamas. Higgs beach has the added attraction of dead fish odor. If you are looking for a place to get wet a pool is a much better choice.

If you are capable of riding a bike i would highly suggest it. Walking is really far and its hot but bike rentals are all over and its prob a 10 min bike ride to Higgs from where the cruise ships dock. A scooter rental is... More
