See the best of Key West on the tour that has been entertaining visitors since 1958. Our expert 'engineers' and friendly staff have delighted guests with the legends and tales of Ernest Hemingway, and Tennessee Williams and the stories of the...more

I have always found it helpful to take a guided tour of a new area before I drive or even walk around. Tour operators know all there is to know about attractions/cities and where to find the hidden treasures of any destination.

Hop on and hop off the Conch Train. The fair is about $31.50 per person to ride around the city and hear interesting tales about Key West. If you are handicapped, need help to get on and off the train perhaps you should try other...More
The Conch Tour Train is a quaint way to see Key West. It makes 4 stops along the way and gets you close to places like the Hemingway House. The tour guides are knowledgeable and friendly. Only drawback is the price. For a family of...More
This tour should be on everyones first thing to do in key West. It was comfortable and fun, covers 13 miles of the city and highlights many of the museums and attractions that we visited later. Tour is very resasonable and includes discounts and free...More
I did this for $29 rather than pay $49 from the cruise ship. You can board at major stopping points along the way, so you’re not locked in to the time. I was not disappointed at all. You can also get discounts at other museums...More
Bob, our conductor/guide was informative and fun. We have taken this tour multiple times but Bob made the tour a lot more interesting than tours we've taken before. Our grandchildren loved the tour, as did their parents.
Our son loves trains, so we decided this would be a great way to see the city and for him to get on a train. Rachel was our guide and she was amazing. She was very knowledgeable of the town. There are for stops on...More
We should have asked more questions before purchasing tickets. Ride offers four different loops but you need to go to each station to ride each loop. The only place to get on and off is at the train station also. Had we known, we would...More
We did the Conch Train tour of Key West at 11:30am on Nov. 10, 2018. We had Jason (I believe was his name) as our tour guide, and all of us thought he did a terrific job. It was as if he was really in...More

Hi We're spending 9.30 - 5pm at Key west as part of a cruise I am looking at the tour operators - CityView trolley, Old town trolley & the Conch tour train. Suggestions on which would be a better option? We'd like to be able to get off and on at certain points for lunch/shopping, etc. The online rates seem cheaper for City view trolley. Comments? thx

I think Cityview is the better option for a one day visitor. The tour stays in Old Town and is less expensive. Old Town Trolley goes out to all the hotels in New Town, and the Conch Train is more of a tour, rather than a hop on hop off trolley.
Conch Tour Train OR Old Town Trolley? (7 Replies)
Which tour is better? The train or the trolley? I'm deciding for a group tour of retired adults visiting next April. The only thing is that with a group tour we are not allowed to get off and on even if we take the Trolley. So that eliminates that advantage over the Train tour. Any helpful hints and advice would be great! Thanks in advance!

I would have to say the train tour. There is a better flow to the tour and with the trolley there is the stopping and waiting for people to get on and off. Each time that happens there is chatter with the driver and it's somewhat disruptive to the tour. Also I like the route of the train tour better, as it's set up strictly as a sightseeing tour.

Which KW guided tour to take? (6 Replies)
As I see it, the main touring companies in Key West are the Conch Tour Train and the Old Town Trolley Tour. Did I miss any? I know that the Trolley allows you to get on and off along it's route. Other than that, any advantage to either tour? thanks... ---Paul in Southern NJ

There is also Cityview tours. They run a hop on hop off trolley ride, like Old Town Trolley. Cityview can be cheaper. if you shop around online there's usually a good deal. Cityview's route is more focussed on Old Town, it doesn't go out to the beaches and New Town as much. You can compare routes online. A lot of people prefer the conch tour train, as I suppose it's more of a novelty and maybe more keysy, but I think the trolley tours have the edge as being able to hop on and off all day...More
